Tottenham keen on Marc Guehi

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly making a late push to hijack Liverpool’s attempt to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, according to BBC Sport.

With Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven currently first-choice at the heart of Spurs’ defence, Ange Postecoglou’s side still want reinforcements. Radu Dragusin remains sidelined with a long-term knee injury, while Romero has been linked with a potential move to Atletico Madrid this summer.

In preparation for any defensive shake-up, Spurs are actively exploring replacements—and Guehi is back on their radar. The North Londoners had previously tried to sign the 24-year-old England international during the January window but failed to strike a deal. They remain keen and are now ready to renew their pursuit.

While Arsenal have also shown interest, their focus appears to be shifting toward a deal for Valencia’s Cristhian Mosquera. That leaves Tottenham and Liverpool as the front-runners for Guehi’s signature.

Liverpool Hold Talks, But Tottenham Smell Opportunity

Liverpool remain the most proactive suitor, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the Reds are set to hold fresh talks with Crystal Palace. However, Ben Jacobs claims Palace have set a £45 million asking price—an amount Liverpool are hesitant to pay, especially with Guehi’s contract set to expire next summer.

This opens the door for Tottenham to swoop in. Should they be willing to meet the Eagles’ valuation, Spurs could leapfrog Liverpool in the race and land a Premier League-proven defender entering his prime.

Guehi, who played a key role in Crystal Palace’s historic FA Cup triumph over Manchester City last season, has also become a regular in Gareth Southgate’s England squad. At 24, his potential and pedigree make him a highly attractive option for any top-six side.

If Tottenham can pull off this deal, it would represent a major defensive coup and a strong statement of intent for the season ahead.
