  • Martin Odegaard needs proper striker signed for Arsenal

    [ad_1]

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes, considered one of the best midfielders England has ever produced, believes ARSENAL star Martin Odegaard is ‘brilliant’ but says he would benefit from playing with a ‘a proper centre forward’.

Arsenal have been playing brilliantly in recent weeks and picked up some stunning results, most recently that shock 5-1 in over Premier League Champions Manchester City, which sent shockwaves throughout Europe.

Gabriel Jesus is once again out for the rest of the season, while Kai Havertz is not a striker that can score 25-30 goals a season, and many hope that Arsenal will eventually delve into that transfer kitty to try and add a better forward to that front line.

The likes of Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, Dusan Vlahovic and Yoane Wissa have all been linked with a move to the Emirates, as well as Ollie Watkins and Alexander Isak, And Scholes believes that Odegaard will become even better if the Gunners sign  a proper centre forward.

‘Imagine him with a centre forward, though. With a proper centre forward,’ Scholes said on The Overlap when discussing Odegaard’s form at Arsenal.

‘Martin Odegaard is a brilliant player, he can put a ball anywhere he wants. He hasn’t got that in front of him, a No. 10 needs that in front of him.

‘I don’t think Kai Havertz is that type of player, even though he might make the odd run here and there.

‘You’re thinking Isak or Duran, the lad from Villa, if he had that in front of him, it makes him become a better player as well because he’s move involved with goals.’

    Reporter Iomie Stanley says…

ARSENAL needs a striker, what they have right now will not win that Premier League of Champions League title, they need to invest in somebody that can lead that front-line and put away chances that come easily.

Odegaard is brilliant and a creative genius, if he had Sesko, Isak or even Watkins ahead of him, his numbers would go through the roof, Arsenal need to sign someone in the summer after failing to sign anybody in January.

  • Mathias Amougou happy with joining Chelsea

    [ad_1]

French midfielder Mathias Amougou has opened up and revealed just how happy he is to have signed with CHELSEA.

Amougou was a regular starter for Saint-Etienne in the first few months of the season under their previous head coach Olivier Dall’Oglio, but he has been used more as a substitute under new boss Eirik Horneland.

Chelsea have been keeping a very close eye on the development of the midfielder and decided to make the move to bring him to Stamford Bridge for a fee of around £12 million, he has also signed a massive eight-year deal.

And after making the move to Chelsea, Amougou has opened up and admitted that he is very happy with the move: ‘I’m very happy,’ Amougou said. ‘It’s an honour for me to sign for such a big club like Chelsea. They believe in young players and the process they have in place to develop us is fantastic.’

    Reporter Iomie Stanley says…

‘He may be very happy right now, he may be glad that such a massive club like Chelsea have come calling and offered him a move to the Premier League, he may be happy until the summer.

‘The squad that Chelsea have, the midfielders already at Stamford Bridge, players like Amougou coming in at this stage of their careers to try and make an impact, it will be very difficult for the lad.

‘I am not saying that he doesnt have the potential to be a big star, what i am saying is that he will probably be shipped out on loan for the next few seasons, forgotten about and then sold for a fee that is similar to what CHELSEA paid.

‘We have seen it in the past and we will see it in the future, he did not need to leave for Chelsea, i have said it before, this is a move that he will surely come to regret.’

  • Chelsea slammed for not signing Victor Osimhen

    [ad_1]

Jose Fonte has slammed CHELSEA over their failure to sign ‘the next Didier Drogba’ Victor Osimhen in the January transfer window, as the Blues failed to make that big signing fans really wanted.

Chelsea have been spending money for fun over the last few transfer windows, have signed some quality players, and have signed some stars that are not good enough to play on a regular basis, but they are still lacking a quality striker.

Nicolas Jackson works hard for Enzo Maresca and does put in the good performances every now and then, but many Blues fans were hoping that a new striker was going to make the move to London in the January window, and Osimhen was a player linked with a move to the Blues.

Obviously Chelsea didnt even make a move for Osimhen, and now Former Crystal Palace, Southampton, West Ham and Portugal defender Fonte feels the Blues may come to regret not securing a deal for Osimhen.

‘Chelsea are crying out for a striker like Victor Osimhen,’ Fonte told BoyleSports, who offer the latest Premier League betting. ‘Look at CHELSEA and all the greats they have had up front. As a striker he could be another Didier Drogba for them, he is a winner.

‘They have a different style of play and Drogba is a legend, but he has pace, power and technical quality. He wins his duels and is such a handful for defenders.’

Fonte added: ‘When I saw Victor Osimhen go to Galatasaray, I thought it was foolish that no Premier League club had signed him.

‘Once Osimhen gets into the Premier League I think he will bully defenders, he is aggressive, fast, clever and powerful. ‘I played against him in the Champions League and I’m sure he took it easy on me as a friend at almost 40, but it was still a nightmare.

‘He’s a player that has been a hardworking kid, that came from nothing, as a grafter, and all the success that he’s having, he deserves it.

‘I can’t wait to see him in the Premier League because he’s one of those guys that you want to see against the very best.

‘You want to see him in the Premier League week in and week out and we will see that this is where he belongs.’

  • Ian Wright pleased Arsenal made Ollie Watkins move

    [ad_1]

Ian Wright says he was ‘pleased’ ARSENAL at least made an attempt to sign Ollie Watkins this winter, as the Gunners made a last minute move to sign the Aston Villa star on deadline day.

Fans have been calling for the Gunners to strengthen in the final third in recent weeks, especially after injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus. But Arsenal were unable to bring in any players in the final days of the window, and Mikel Arteta has admitted he is unhappy with his lack of options up front.

The likes of Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, Dusan Vlahovic and Yoane Wissa were all linked in recent weeks, as well as Ollie Watkins and Alexander Isak, but Wright believes it was ‘always going to be tough’ for Arsenal to bring in the calibre of player they desired.

‘It was always going to be tough for us. Isak wasn’t even an option,’ the legendary ex-Arsenal striker said on the Wrighty’s House podcast.

‘When we’re talking about strikers, it’s a gamble and I don’t care who you are. Darwin Nunez, Rasmus Hojlund… Isak went for £63m, he’s the only one in recent times that I’m looking at as a striker who has probably doubled his money.

‘You look at Nicolas Jackson. For £32m, I’m happy with that. But when you start getting past £50m, you have to start thinking that it’s a pure gamble.

‘They’re hoping that it works and I don’t think Arsenal can afford to do that. That’s probably why they went for a 29-year-old in Ollie Watkins or Villa tried to get him to come to us, whatever it was.

‘As a club, I don’t think we can afford to take the chance on those kind of signings hitting or missing. It has to hit with Arsenal and this is why it’s so tough.

‘I’ve always thought it was so difficult to get somebody in January. Who is going to leave at that stage who is the calibre of player you want? We’re going to have to see something in the summer.’

    Reporter Iomie Stanley says…

ARSENAL f****d up by not signing a new striker in the January window, they had the whole month to make moves, they could have got Jhon Duran for just £54 million if they made an offer, but now, they waited until deadline day to make moves.

‘If Arsenal wants to win that title, they need a striker, someone that can score 30 goals a season, they have players that can create chances, but Kai Havertz is not good enough and it could cost them come the end of the season.’

  • Carney Chukwuemeka very happy with Borussia Dortmund move

    [ad_1]

Carney Chukwuemeka has opened up and revealed that he is very grateful to have made the January move to Borussia Dortmund, to end his nightmare season at CHELSEA.

Chelsea originally signed Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa in a deal worth €18 million ($18.5 million) in 2022. However, the 21-year-old English midfielder, who was born in Eisenstadt, Austria, struggled to play time at the Blues.

Since joining the club, Chukwuemeka has managed just 32 appearances (two goals and one assist) across all competitions and really failed to make an sort of impact under Enzo Maresca, and that prompted him to make the loan move to Dortmund.

And after sealing that move to the Bundesliga, the midfielder opened up and revealed just how delighted he is with the move: “Everything is rather surreal. I’m just absorbing every moment. This is a huge club, who were in the Champions League final last season. I was grateful to be able to watch it, a few of my friends were on the pitch. But yes, it’s a surreal feeling. I’m so happy to be here and I can barely wait to get started.”

‘I was born in Vienna – but I was only there for two years. So that wasn’t long enough to learn German properly. But my father speaks fluent German. So I will try to learn as much as I can from him.”

“I’m a player who likes to express himself on the pitch, I play without fear. I like to dribble, initiate moves, pass and shoot. I will always give my all for the badge. I’m honestly very grateful that I’m here. Fans can expect all of that from me. I will give my all in every game.”

“The Champions League final last season, of course. The way they got there. And of course there are also a number of English talents who have really flourished here: Jude [Bellingham, ed.], Jaden [Sancho, ed.], Jamie [Gittens, ed.].

‘This big club is able to make talents big. It’s a big club in general, the stadium is huge, the fans are great. I was on the bench a few years ago when BVB played Chelsea in the Champions League. I still remember the volume of the yellow wall, it was a great atmosphere.”

“I would say it’s a chance for me to show what I can do. I can’t thank the club enough for the trust they’ve shown in me. That alone was an important reason for me to come here. But, as I said, it’s also the array of talent that has developed here.

‘That makes it the right move for me right now. I want to showcase my talent in Europe and I want to help us all, the club, to be successful.”
