Borussia Dortmund Join Arsenal in Race for Juan Gimenez

Borussia Dortmund have entered the race to sign highly-rated Argentine defender Juan Gimenez, intensifying competition with Arsenal for the teenage talent.

According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Dortmund have joined the growing list of European clubs chasing the 19-year-old Rosario Central star. Arsenal have been monitoring Gimenez closely, with Mikel Arteta keen on strengthening his defensive depth with young, versatile options.

    South American Market Heating Up

European clubs continue to tap into South America’s talent pool, and Gimenez is the latest to emerge as a serious prospect. Known for his composure and positional awareness, the young defender has impressed in Argentina’s top flight and also offers versatility by being capable of playing in midfield.

With his contract expiring at the end of the year, Gimenez presents an attractive, low-cost opportunity—especially compared to other rising stars who come with hefty price tags. Manchester United have also shown interest, highlighting the defender’s rising stock.

Arsenal vs Dortmund: A Summer Transfer Battle

Arsenal have also been tracking Valencia’s Cristhian Mosquera, but Gimenez’s flexibility and raw talent could appeal to Arteta’s vision for the future. However, Borussia Dortmund—renowned for developing young players—may offer a faster pathway to first-team football.

With just six months left on his contract, Rosario Central must decide whether to cash in this summer. A transfer tug-of-war could be on the cards, as Gimenez appears poised to make the leap to European football in the coming months.

  • Newcastle Join Race for Dortmund Star Jamie Gittens

Newcastle Join Race for Dortmund Star Jamie Gittens

    [ad_1]

Newcastle United have officially entered the race to sign Borussia Dortmund’s rising star Jamie Gittens, with Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea also vying for his signature.

The 20-year-old English winger has been a revelation in the Bundesliga, racking up 17 goal contributions this season. His explosive pace, flair, and ability to operate across the frontline make him a tantalising prospect for top clubs looking to bolster their attacking options.

    Why Newcastle Want Gittens

Eddie Howe’s side have relied heavily on Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon to deliver in the final third. With Champions League ambitions and the need for greater squad depth, Newcastle see Gittens as the perfect addition to complement their current attacking trio.

The Magpies are building for the future, and capturing one of England’s brightest young talents from Dortmund would underline their growing pull in the transfer market.

    Arsenal and Chelsea Also Circling

Arsenal, meanwhile, are in desperate need of cover and competition for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. With the Gunners aiming to finally clinch the Premier League title, adding Gittens could be key to improving squad rotation and attacking potency.

Chelsea are also monitoring the situation closely. With Mykhailo Mudryk underperforming and facing a potential suspension, the Blues view Gittens as a long-term solution on the wing.

    Who Will Win the Race?

All three clubs boast the financial power to tempt Dortmund and the player. But Gittens will likely prioritise a club with clear vision, playing time, and a shot at silverware. Whether it’s Arsenal’s title push, Newcastle’s resurgence, or Chelsea’s rebuilding project, the battle for Jamie Gittens promises to be one of the summer’s hottest transfer sagas.

  • Carney Chukwuemeka very happy with Borussia Dortmund move

    [ad_1]

Carney Chukwuemeka has opened up and revealed that he is very grateful to have made the January move to Borussia Dortmund, to end his nightmare season at CHELSEA.

Chelsea originally signed Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa in a deal worth €18 million ($18.5 million) in 2022. However, the 21-year-old English midfielder, who was born in Eisenstadt, Austria, struggled to play time at the Blues.

Since joining the club, Chukwuemeka has managed just 32 appearances (two goals and one assist) across all competitions and really failed to make an sort of impact under Enzo Maresca, and that prompted him to make the loan move to Dortmund.

And after sealing that move to the Bundesliga, the midfielder opened up and revealed just how delighted he is with the move: “Everything is rather surreal. I’m just absorbing every moment. This is a huge club, who were in the Champions League final last season. I was grateful to be able to watch it, a few of my friends were on the pitch. But yes, it’s a surreal feeling. I’m so happy to be here and I can barely wait to get started.”

‘I was born in Vienna – but I was only there for two years. So that wasn’t long enough to learn German properly. But my father speaks fluent German. So I will try to learn as much as I can from him.”

“I’m a player who likes to express himself on the pitch, I play without fear. I like to dribble, initiate moves, pass and shoot. I will always give my all for the badge. I’m honestly very grateful that I’m here. Fans can expect all of that from me. I will give my all in every game.”

“The Champions League final last season, of course. The way they got there. And of course there are also a number of English talents who have really flourished here: Jude [Bellingham, ed.], Jaden [Sancho, ed.], Jamie [Gittens, ed.].

‘This big club is able to make talents big. It’s a big club in general, the stadium is huge, the fans are great. I was on the bench a few years ago when BVB played Chelsea in the Champions League. I still remember the volume of the yellow wall, it was a great atmosphere.”

“I would say it’s a chance for me to show what I can do. I can’t thank the club enough for the trust they’ve shown in me. That alone was an important reason for me to come here. But, as I said, it’s also the array of talent that has developed here.

‘That makes it the right move for me right now. I want to showcase my talent in Europe and I want to help us all, the club, to be successful.”
