  • Chelsea encouraged to sign Marc Guehi

    [ad_1]

CHELSEA have been encouraged to make a move for top Liverpool target Marc Guehi this transfer window, as the Crystal Palace defender looks like a player that is ready for the top of the game.

Guehi has established himself as one of the most highly regarded and sought-after defenders in Premier League football since leaving boyhood side Chelsea for Palace in 2021.

A series of strong performances at Euro 2024 only enhanced Guehi’s reputation and the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle and Liverpool were all credited with an interest following last summer’s tournament.

Palace managed to fend off their Premier League rivals to keep hold of Guehi and handed the centre-half the captain’s armband ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, but there is talk that he could still make the move away from Palace this season.

And amid all the speculation, and Speaking on talkSPORT, Arsenal legend Ray Parlour was asked whether he thought Guehi to Stamford Bridge was a good move, replying: ‘From Chelsea’s point of view, certainly.

‘He’s been brilliant at Palace. Palace don’t want to lose him, but they are a selling club.

‘They’re realistic and they might have to sell one or two of their players but from CHELSEA’s point of view they’re getting a very, very, very good player.

‘£40million, that’s the rate these days. Everybody’s £40million at least and upwards.

‘If Liverpool get him, that will be another hammer blow for a lot of clubs who are trying to go for the title.’

Guehi is ready for that next step in his career, he is ready to play for a massive club like CHELSEA, but he may be very happy to stay put as he seems to be winning trophies at Palace.

An FA Cup last season and a Community Shield already, that is more that many player in the Premier League ever achieve.

  • Aaron Ramsdale encouraged to complete Chelsea move

    [ad_1]

Ben Foster has told Aaron Ramsdale he would be a significant ‘upgrade’ on Robert Sanchez should Chelsea come calling during the summer transfer window, which opens in just a few months time.

A summer exodus is expected at St Mary’s after they were once again relegated from the Premier League and Ramsdale is among the list of players set for the exit door, just one year after arriving from Arsenal, with several top-flight clubs keeping close tabs on the 26-year-old’s situation.

There have been quite a few Premier League clubs that have shown an interest in the Englishman, but former Manchester United, Watford and England goalkeeper Foster feels Ramsdale could be a sensible option for Chelsea as a possible replacement for Sanchez, who faces an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge.

It’s proven a difficult campaign for Sanchez between the sticks and the Spaniard even lost his place in Enzo Maresca’s starting XI to Filip Jorgensen in February after a string of costly blunders.

Asked whether he would take Ramsdale if he was Chelsea, Foster told the Ben Foster – The Cycling GK podcast: ‘Yes, I would. He would be an upgrade.

‘He needs to find a team that are going to be a solid, settled Premier League team and you’ll get another ten years out of Aaron Ramsdale at the top level.

‘That’s what Aaron Ramsdale needs. There’s a really good signing there.’

    IcFootballnews View…

Ramsdale is a top shopper, he is quality on his day and he would probably be a better shot-stopper that what the Blues have right now, but guys, Enzo Maresca likes to play out from the back and Ramsdale is not the best with his feet.

For the right amount of money, it would make sense, but Ramsdale knows that he would not be a number one at Chelsea and that is why a move to Stamford Bridge will not happen
