Man United have already made their decision on Kobbie Mainoo as winter exit links persist – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Word on the street is that come the winter transfer window, Kobbie Mainoo will once again ask to leave Manchester United.

Towards the end of the summer window, Mainoo requested a loan move.

The United midfield prodigy anticipated he would not play a key role under Ruben Amorim and wanted to join a club where regular game time was guaranteed.

With this being a FIFA World Cup year, the 20-year-old’s sole focus was earning a place in Thomas Tuchel’s England Three Lions squad.

United blocked the loan request, insisting he had a key role to play. But that promise has not held up.

    From prodigy to peripheral

Behind Bruno Fernandes in the pecking order, Mainoo has struggled for minutes.

Of the 900-plus minutes United have played this season, he has featured in just 207, a frustrating return for a player once hailed as the brightest talent to emerge from the academy.

From key man to squad player, Mainoo might feel his World Cup hope is slipping away.

However, he can revive that dream if he pushes for a move in January.

    Top clubs keen

Several top clubs are already circling. Napoli are pushing hard to reunite him with Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund in Naples, while Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring the situation closely.

As speculation builds around a potential winter exit, transfer guru Pete O’Rourke has dropped a bombshell.

    INEOS already have their answer

While Mainoo dreams of a season-defining move in January, O’Rourke, via Football Insider, reveals:

“Manchester United don’t really want to let Kobbie Mainoo leave.

“They blocked any move from Mainoo, and I would imagine they would look to do the same in January because he probably will be needed by United for this season in case there’s any injuries or anything else.

“They’ll be confident that they can keep all of them, and I don’t think they’ll be willing to let such a talented player like that leave United when they probably need all their best players to help Ruben Amorim have a successful season.”

    Tricky situation

Hopefully, things change. Hopefully, Mainoo earns his place in Amorim’s line-up between now and the winter transfer window.

Because if he continues warming the bench, United’s No.37 may have no choice but to agitate for a move.

INEOS might believe they have already mapped out how to handle the Mainoo situation this winter, but it will not be as straightforward as they think.

Imagine United still blocking that move, leaving him to stagnate on the bench; he misses the World Cup.

Mainoo may never be the same after that.

Rio Ferdinand delivers blunt verdict on Andre Onana’s looming Man United exit – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has pulled no punches in his assessment of Andre Onana’s imminent departure.

    Onana set to leave United

Onana’s future was the subject of speculation during the summer transfer window, despite United’s insistence that they were not actively looking to offload him.

However, once the season started, it became apparent that Onana had lost his place in the starting XI to Altay Bayindir, who was named in goal for all three of the club’s Premier League fixtures.

Onana was given a chance to reclaim his spot when he started against Grimsby Town but he failed spectacularly, making mistakes for both goals that the League Two side netted in the first half, while also saving just one of the 13 penalties that were taken in the penalty shootout as United came crashing out of the EFL Cup.

The Cameroonian’s fate was all but sealed after United completed a deadline-day swoop for Senne Lammens.

Turkish side Trabzonspor tabled an offer for Onana, which United accepted. The Red Devils left it up to Onana to make the final decision on his future and after some deliberation, he accepted the terms that were put on the table.

A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Onana stands to earn far more at Trabzonspor than he did at United, thanks to a hefty signing bonus and performance-related incentives.

The shot-stopper is expected to travel to Turkey on Thursday to officially seal the switch.

Speaking on the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast, Ferdinand expressed his satisfaction with the ruthless manner in which United moved Onana out of the club.

    Ferdinand’s take on Onana’s exit

Ferdinand said, “I think [Omar [Berrada], who is running the football operations at the club, I think he’s made the point that they’re not going to have players sitting around that are not worthy of being at the football club anymore.”

“They’re not going to have players that either aren’t good enough, haven’t performed well enough or are not the right people to be at the football club. He’s not going to have them around like bad smells. I think, for far too long, we’ve had at that at the football club.”

“We’ve been forced to keep players because of bad financial situations that the club have put us in with players and we’ve had to keep them here, sit with them and had to suffer some of these players.”

Ferdinand continued, “I think this is a step in the right direction. As happy as I am with the players that are coming in and providing a difference in terms of speed, dynamism, pace and goal threat, I’m as pleased, if not more, with the way they’ve got players out that the club deemed weren’t right to be there.”

“That side of it has been as important, if not more, than the incoming players because I think it sends out a fantastic message and a strong message to the players that are there: you ain’t hanging about here if you ain’t what we want.”

“That’s what it should be like at every club. If you’re not right for the football club, you’ve got to get out. That’s why I’m so strong on it when a player wants to go, he should be able to force and go… I think it should work both ways.”

United are back in action on Sunday when they face cross-town rivals Manchester City at the Etihad.

Everton Eye Jack Harrison Reunion Amid Leeds Exit Rumours

    [ad_1]

Everton are reportedly considering a summer swoop to re-sign Jack Harrison from Leeds United, as the 28-year-old winger prepares for a likely departure from Elland Road.

    Harrison’s Leeds Future Looks Over

According to Football Insider, Harrison has become a top target for the Toffees, who are looking to strengthen their wide options ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. The Englishman is said to have “burnt his bridges” at Leeds United following back-to-back loan spells at Goodison Park, and a permanent move now looks increasingly likely.

Leeds’ relegation from the Premier League in 2022/23 triggered a turbulent period for Harrison, once a key figure in their attack. Since then, he’s spent two seasons on loan at Everton, with mixed results.

Inconsistent Form, But Still Trusted at Everton

While Harrison impressed during his first loan stint, his most recent campaign left fans underwhelmed. He registered just one goal and one assist across 38 appearances in all competitions during the 2024/25 season.

Despite that dip in form, Everton still value the winger’s work ethic and familiarity with Sean Dyche’s system. With Jesper Lindstrom and Harrison both returning to their parent clubs, the Toffees are in urgent need of reinforcements out wide.

Bakayoko Deal Slipping – Harrison Back in the Frame?

Everton had shown interest in PSV’s Johan Bakayoko, but the Belgian is now closing in on a move to RB Leipzig. That development has put Harrison firmly back on the radar at Goodison Park, especially as a more affordable and Premier League-proven alternative.

While no deal is confirmed yet, all signs point to a potential third chapter for Jack Harrison at Everton. With Leeds seemingly ready to offload him and the player himself eager for a fresh start, a permanent move to Merseyside could be just around the corner.

  • Manchester United set for big payday as Fulham accept Andreas Pereira exit – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United set for big payday as Fulham accept Andreas Pereira exit – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Manchester United are reportedly set for a major financial windfall, with Fulham “resigned” to losing Andreas Pereira this summer.

Pereira spent 11 years at United and made 75 appearances for the club before he permanently left to join Fulham in 2022.

United sold him for just £10m. He came through the ranks at Carrington and had loan spells at Lazio in Italy and Flamengo in his native Brazil.

The midfielder scored four goals for United.

He struggled to become a mainstay at United, but he had no such issues at Fulham, where he almost instantly became one of the main men under Marco Silva upon arrival.

Pereira has played 119 times for the Cottagers, contributing 10 goals and 22 assists in that period.

However, it seems his time at Fulham is nearing its end – a development that could significantly benefit Ruben Amorim’s side financially.

According to TEAMtalk, Fulham are “resigned” to losing Pereira, who is on the radar of South American giants Palmeiras. He came close to signing for Palmeiras in January but the transfer never materialised as Fulham rejected their offers, one of which was worth around £20.5m.

With his deal expiring next summer and the 29-year-old making it clear he won’t put pen to paper on fresh terms, this window represents Fulham’s only chance of getting decent money from parting ways with him.

When United sold Pereira to Fulham, they included a 20 percent sell-on clause in the deal. This means the Red Devils will earn 20 percent of whatever fee Fulham receive from his sale.

United will be able to add this financial boost to their transfer budget, significantly enhancing Amorim’s chances of securing his top transfer targets.

TEAMtalk note that Fulham are aware of this, hence why they want a “hefty fee” to sanction Pereira’s exit.

In addition to Palmeiras, Pereira is also admired by Marseille and clubs in Saudi Arabia. The Duffel-born player is ready for a new challenge away from Craven Cottage.
