Marcus Rashford has reportedly approached a top European club amid speculation that he will leave Manchester United this summer.
Since Ruben Amorim took charge at United in November, signs have pointed to Rashford’s time at his boyhood club nearing its conclusion. ..Continue Reading
That impression was all but confirmed a month later when the forward admitted in an interview with journalist Henry Winter that he was considering a new challenge away from Old Trafford.
Now, Rashford seems to have settled on his desired destination ahead of the summer transfer window, and he is even prepared to accept a wage cut to make the move happen.
During the winter transfer window, he was linked with several major European clubs but ultimately opted for a loan spell at Aston Villa until the end of the season.
Despite making a strong impression at Villa Park, a permanent transfer to the Midlands club appears unlikely, with Rashford instead hoping to secure a switch to Barcelona.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Rashford has enlisted the help of experienced football agent Pini Zahavi to facilitate his potential move to the Spanish giants, given Zahavi’s close ties to the club.
Zahavi reportedly maintains a solid relationship with Barcelona president Joan Laporta and also manages both Hansi Flick and Robert Lewandowski.
Barcelona previously expressed interest in a loan deal for Rashford during the winter window, and the player believes Zahavi could act as the key intermediary in securing the transfer this summer.
Reports suggest that a loan deal would be Barcelona’s preferred approach, given Rashford’s existing contract with United, which runs until 2028. However, the winger is willing to lower his wages to smoothen negotiations.
Discussions between Rashford’s camp and Barcelona are said to be in the early stages, with a final decision expected after the season concludes.
The summer transfer window is heating up, and Tottenham Hotspur full-back Pedro Porro has emerged as a hot commodity. Reports suggest that Barcelona have entered the race to sign the Spanish defender, joining fellow La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid and Villarreal in the chase.
Spurs Ready to Cash In
Porro has been a consistent performer for Spurs since his permanent switch from Sporting CP in 2023. His attacking flair and defensive work rate have made him a fan favourite, but with Ange Postecoglou eyeing a squad overhaul, Tottenham are reportedly open to offers north of £50 million.
With Djed Spence returning from loan and pushing for a starting role, Porro’s future in North London is uncertain. The club sees this as a prime opportunity to cash in.
Barcelona’s Tactical Need
According to Fichajes, Barcelona’s interest is driven by new boss Hansi Flick’s demand for a natural right-back. With Jules Kounde forced to play out of position for much of the season, Porro’s La Liga pedigree and attacking output make him an ideal fit — if Barça can navigate their ongoing financial limitations.
Atletico Madrid and Villarreal Also in the Mix
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid are also circling. With Nahuel Molina’s future unclear, Diego Simeone sees Porro’s energy and transition play as a perfect match for his high-intensity system. Atletico have reportedly been laying the groundwork for a move for months.
Villarreal, on the other hand, are plotting a conditional move. Their interest hinges on Champions League qualification, with a loan-to-buy offer on the table should they secure European football.
A Bidding War Brewing?
Tottenham are in a strong position, with Porro tied down until 2028. If Manchester City, his former club, step into the fray, the battle could get even fiercer.
For Spurs, this is a chance to reshape the squad and pocket a sizeable fee. For Porro, a return to Spain — and possibly the Camp Nou spotlight — could be the next big chapter in his career.
