Chelsea Join Man Utd and Tottenham in £30m Race for Yehor Yarmolyuk

    [ad_1]

Chelsea have entered the race to sign Brentford’s rising midfield star Yehor Yarmolyuk, joining Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in what’s shaping up to be a fierce Premier League transfer battle, according to TEAMtalk.

    Yarmolyuk’s Meteoric Rise at Brentford

Since arriving from SC Dnipro-1 in 2023, the Ukrainian international has become a cornerstone of Brentford’s midfield, making over 75 Premier League appearances. This season, he’s been ever-present under Keith Andrews, filling the void left by former captain Christian Nørgaard, who departed for Arsenal in the summer.

The 21-year-old’s consistent performances have not gone unnoticed. He caught Chelsea’s eye during Brentford’s thrilling 2-2 draw with the Blues in September, registering a chance created, two tackles, and seven recoveries, according to FOTMOB. His standout display in the Bees’ 3-1 victory over Manchester United—where he notched an assist—only amplified interest from England’s elite.

    The Premier League Trio Circle

Chelsea, despite already boasting big-money signings Enzo Fernández and Moisés Caicedo, are keen to add another dependable defensive midfielder to strengthen their long-term core.
Manchester United, meanwhile, view Yarmolyuk as a potential heir to Casemiro, with the Brazilian showing signs of decline.
Tottenham Hotspur also have a strong case—Thomas Frank, now Spurs’ head coach, previously managed the youngster at Brentford and is eager for a reunion in North London.

    Transfer Tug-of-War Looms

Brentford remain reluctant to sell their prized asset this winter, but TEAMtalk reports that a £30 million offer could tempt them to reconsider.

With Chelsea, United, and Spurs all circling, the battle for Yarmolyuk’s signature could heat up as January approaches. His blend of energy, tactical discipline, and Premier League experience makes him one of the most coveted young midfielders in England right now—and his next move could be pivotal for any club looking to dominate the midfield battles ahead.

  • Ivan Toney emerges as surprise target if this United star leaves – Man United News And Transfer News

Ivan Toney emerges as surprise target if this United star leaves – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

A meagre four Premier League goals in the whole of last season for Rasmus Hojlund proved to Ruben Amorim that the Dane was simply not good enough to lead the line for Manchester United on his own.

Despite the 22-year-old’s desire to stay and fight for his place, INEOS ruthlessly cast him aside, with the Denmark international joining Napoli on loan.

He is expected to join them permanently, given the kind of start he has enjoyed for the defending Serie A champions.

The co-owners decided to splurge big to land Benjamin Sesko as his replacement, and the Slovenian now has back-to-back Premier League goals and is showing signs that he is the perfect striker to play up front for the Red Devils.

    Zirkzee lack of minutes

The former RB Leipzig star’s superb form has meant hardly any minutes for Joshua Zirkzee, who is contemplating leaving in January, with Serie A and English top-flight outfits chasing his signature.

INEOS are expected to hold talks with him to convince him to stay, while Amorim also does not want the Dutchman to leave.

But should he continue to get overlooked, the 24-year-old will look to leave once the transfer window reopens as he looks to regain his place in the Netherlands national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

In that case, the Red Devils will look to recruit someone as a replacement and Talksport have suggested that Ivan Toney, currently playing for Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, could be the chosen alternative.

The Englishman has been on fire for his club, netting eight times in 10 games this term, while in the previous campaign, he found the back of the net 30 times.

    Toney eyeing January loan

Ivan Toney remains intent on winning back his place in the England national team for the World Cup, and a short-term loan deal makes a lot of sense.

While no discussions are advanced at this stage, the 20-time English league champions could see Tottenham Hotspur join them in the race.

Thomas Frank, who is the current Spurs boss, was the 29-year-old’s manager during his time at Brentford, and a reunion could be on the cards.

“What’s going to be really interesting in the next few months is, will Thomas Tuchel tell Ivan Toney definitively, ‘By being in Saudi, you’re further down the pecking order’?,” journalist Ben Jacobs said.

“And Toney’s aspiration is to play in the World Cup. Plus the fact the way the calendar falls, there’s a Ramadan break and that is in the months, at the moment, of February through to mid-March.

United could pounce if Zirkzee leaves

“It wouldn’t actually be a bad idea for players that want to stay sharp, to do a half-season loan, and then maybe even go back to Saudi Arabia. There’ll be interest in Ivan Toney.

“Al Ahli sources say they don’t want to sell, there’s a brand new sporting director there and he doesn’t want to let Ivan Toney go. And then as far as Premier League interest, I think we’ve heard links with Tottenham due to the Thomas Frank connection.

“I’m not aware of any Spurs approach at this stage, some have even said Manchester United, and again, I think Manchester United are banking on Benjamin Sesko and they’ve also got Matheus Cunha, who can play at No.9.

“But if Joshua Zirkzee left, you never know, another striker could come in at Old Trafford but at the moment, it’s all quiet as far as a Premier League return is concerned.”

An experienced backup for Sesko would mean less pressure on the Slovenia international, but Toney’s wages would prove to be a major hurdle. And midfield seems to be the area in the most urgent need of reinforcements. INEOS also don’t want to lose Zirkzee. An interesting January window awaits for United.

Altay Bayindir: United set for ruthless transfer step – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Manchester United’s woes in goal have been an ongoing issue for several seasons now.

Former manager Erik ten Hag was left fed up with club legend David de Gea, and he eventually left as a free agent. The Dutchman opted to bring in Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir as backup.

The Cameroonian has been nothing short of a disaster, with mistakes galore in all competitions. His Carabao Cup horror show proved to be the final straw, and he was subsequently loaned out to Trabzonspor.

The Turkish side are keen to keep him at the club, while the ex-Ajax ace has still not given up hope of making it at Old Trafford. The Red Devils have no such plans, and he is likely to be offloaded once his loan ends next summer.

His backup, Altay Bayindir, has fared little better since his arrival from Fenerbahce. Ruben Amorim opted to start him in the opening six Premier League games, to disastrous results.

    Bayindir disasterclass

He was at fault for the only goal conceded against Arsenal on opening day, with the 20-time English league champions losing despite dominating the Gunners.

Mistakes against Fulham, and Brentford proved costly, and eventually, the head coach finally opted to hand a debut to Senne Lammens against Sunderland.

The Belgian proved to be a revelation, and is now set for a run of games, and the Portuguese tactician will be looking to get rid of the Turkiye international either in January or next summer, while bringing in an experienced face as backup.

“Andre Onana will never play for Manchester United again, sources have told TEAMtalk, with the future of another goalkeeper at Old Trafford under threat.

“Andre Onana is finished at Man Utd. We should have no doubts that he has played his last game for the club, and there is real hope that his loan move genuinely does turn into a permanent one.

“There is a sense of relief that he has started in a positive manner and that there is a sense of optimism that they can completely move on from him now.

    Time to go

“The entire situation around goalkeepers is looking much better in the past couple of weeks, with Lammens immediately bringing comfort to the United fans – and probably also his defence too.

“Onana will be replaced by another goalkeeper – and Bayindir may have to move on as well. The plan is for Lammens to become the number one, but there is very much a focus on making sure he will continue to earn that position if he stays there, rather than just being able to take the shirt for granted.”

It has been clear for sometime now that Altay Bayindir is not up to the task of being the club’s No.1 and is also far from a reliable backup.

Moving him on and bringing in someone like Emiliano Martinez or Mike Maignan would truly transform the goalkeeping department at the club.

Joshua Zirkzee: Amorim’s plans for forward now revealed – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Following Manchester United’s humiliating exit from the Carabao Cup, the number of matches the team will play has gone down drastically.

Until the start of the FA Cup, the Red Devils only have the Premier League to play for. And while Ruben Amorim is delighted with the added training time, several players are suffering due to the lack of game time.

Joshua Zirkzee, who started 15 times last season under the head coach, has yet to start a single game so far this campaign.

He has seen a grand total of 82 minutes of action, and remained an unused substitute in last weekend’s win over Sunderland.

    Joshua Zirkzee struggles

The 24-year-old has been left frustrated with the lack of minutes, and numerous reports have suggested that he is willing to part ways as early as January.

With the World Cup just around the corner, the ex-Bologna ace is hoping to get back into the Netherlands national team and for that to happen, he will have to play regularly.

Multiple Serie A clubs as well as English top-flight sides are willing to take a punt on the Dutchman, but as per Givemesport, Amorim does not want him to leave.

In fact, United have no intention of sanctioning an exit in the winter window, and come next summer, they will only entertain offers of above £43 million, the money they splurged in 2024 to bring him to the Theatre of Dreams.

“Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee is prepared to leave the club in the January transfer window, even though manager Ruben Amorim wants him to stay, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed on the Market Madness podcast.

    Amorim’s plans

“According to GIVEMESPORT sources, Zirkzee is prepared to leave Manchester United when the January transfer window opens, but manager Amorim wants him to remain at Old Trafford for the second half of the campaign.

“United are reluctant to sanction an exit for Zirkzee in January, and a permanent sale is unlikely to be entertained for a book loss, just 18 months on from when they paid Bologna £43m to secure his signature.”

With Benjamin Sesko now at the club, Joshua Zirkzee is unlikely to get too many minutes up front, while Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount are ahead of him in the pecking order when it comes to the No.10 role.

His link-up play did impress fans, but as of now, there is not clear role for him, and it will be interesting to see what happens to him once the window opens again in January.

Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox leading ambitious plan for Man United’s academy – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Manchester United chiefs Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox are reportedly spearheading an ambitious plan for the club’s academy, and it involves Carrington.

    United revamp Carrington

In August this year, United announced the completion of their £50m redevelopment of the men’s first team building at Carrington.

The project, which was undertaken by award-winning architects Foster + Partners, took one year as part of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s investment in the club.

During the unveiling, United labelled the project “an important milestone in the club’s commitment to providing world-class facilities for its players and staff.”

This redevelopment followed United’s opening of the £10m facility shared between the women’s and academy teams.

In addition to gym and rehabilitation facilities, the complex also featured changing rooms, kit and boot rooms, a women’s first-team restaurant with live cooking areas, a players’ lounge, and multiple meeting rooms.

Now, according to GIVEMESPORT, United are now focusing on the next phase of the Carrington redevelopment, which is set to concentrate on the academy.

United lining up plan for the academy

GIVEMESPORT reveal, “Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada [are] leading plans to bring the [academy’s] facilities up to the same elite standards as the men’s and women’s teams.”

“Club sources have told GMS that the intention is to modernise the academy site following a series of recent investments across the club.”

“The academy redevelopment is now viewed internally as the natural next step in United’s long-term infrastructure plan.”

It was reportedly considered “too disruptive” to redevelop the academy at the same time as the men’s and women’s facilities. However, United have now shifted focus, aiming to create a world-class setup for their promising young talents.

GMS add, “There is said to be a clear determination from both Wilcox and Berrada to make Manchester United’s academy among the best in the world. The pair recognise that upgrading the facilities is essential to that ambition and are expected to push discussions forward now that Stephen Torpey has begun his role within the academy.”

Wilcox and Berrada are believed to want United’s academy to be the best in world football.

United’s plans for Diego Leon now revealed – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Manchester United’s summer spending spree seems to be finally paying off, with Benjamin Sesko and Senne Lammens shining against Sunderland.

The Slovenian scored his second consecutive Premier League goal on Saturday, while the Belgian proved to be a colossal presence at the back.

Add Bryan Mbeumo’s bright start, and Matheus Cunha impressing, it is safe to say INEOS have got it right. But one player is yet to see a single minute of action for the first team.

Diego Leon arrived in the summer from Cerro Porteno, and the Red Devils were always likely to take it slow with him given his inexperience at the top level.

Diego Leon: start to life at United

It was strange to see Harry Amass get sent out on loan instead of the Paraguayan, who has made the matchday squad four times so far.

His only minutes have arrived for the U21s, and he looked shaky against Liverpool and was eventually hooked at half-time.

There have been murmurs that he is simply not ready and that a loan exit is possible in January. But Givemesport have a different take on the left-back.

The report claims the 18-year-old has impressed his new teammates in training with Casemiro even taking him under his wing.

And the 20-time English league champions are in no hurry with the Paraguay U20 international. They plan to observe him in training and offer him minutes in the U21s before potentially handing him his senior debut.

The defender has no qualms about the club’s approach, and is enjoying his time at Carrington after having adapted to his new surroundings.

“Diego Leon has been settling in well at Manchester United following his arrival earlier this year, according to GIVEMESPORT sources.

    United’s plans for him

“The young full-back has been eased into life in England, making just one appearance so far in Premier League 2 as he adjusts to the pace and physicality of the game. United’s plan is clear, to give Leon time to find his feet and develop naturally before any step towards senior involvement.

“Sources have told GIVEMESPORT that Leon has been doing well, nothing flashy, nothing alarming, just a steady, professional start to his time at Carrington. Those close to the player say he’s enjoying the experience and seems to be liking everything about life at the club so far.

“For now, the focus at United remains on patience and progression. The club are in no rush, preferring to let Leon grow through training sessions and development matches before considering him for first-team opportunities. That approach has been key, and all signs suggest the youngster is responding well to the environment surrounding him.”

Interestingly, he has already been called up to the Paraguay senior team during the international break and it will be intriguing to see if he earns minutes there.

That might make his claim for first team action stronger, especially if he impresses.

Marlon Gomes emerges as surprise midfield target for United – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Manchester United’s lack of balance in midfield has been a major talking point throughout the season.

Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro have been Ruben Amorim’s go-to midfield pairing, while Manuel Ugarte has also had a couple of starts.

However, this has meant the skipper has been forced to play in a deeper role, which has limited his attacking potential.

It has not impressed him, while the head coach’s decision not to turn to Kobbie Mainoo has also been criticised, with the Englishman open to leaving in January if chances remain few and far between.

    Midfielder hunt

The Red Devils have been on the hunt for the perfect midfielder with Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson among the names linked with a move to Old Trafford.

However, all three are expected to cost big money and after a summer splurge, INEOS might not be in a position to go big in January.

Interestingly, SportsBoom have revealed that the 20-time English league champions are eyeing Shakhtar Donetsk’s Marlon Gomes, with the Brazilian excellent both as a defensive midfielder or as the No.8.

Most importantly, the 21-year-old is available for a mere €30 million with the Ukrainian giants open to a sale. The likes of West Ham United, Everton and Leeds United are all eyeing the former Vasco Da Gama starlet.

“Shakhtar Donetsk’s Marlon Gomes is attracting major interest in the Premier League, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

“The Brazilian playmaker showcased his ability with two assists against Aberdeen in the Conference League on Thursday night.

Marlon Gomes emerges as a target

“And our sources understand the 21-year-old is on the radar of Manchester United, West Ham United, Everton and Leeds United ahead of a summer swoop.

“It is understood Donetsk would be willing to sell the midfielder for a fee in the region of €30 million.”

The Brazil U23 international has three assists this season, including two in a single Conference League game against Aberdeen recently.

His versatility would be a great asset for Amorim, and it will be interesting to see if a January move materialises or if an approach is delayed till next summer.

Details of JJ Gabriel and Amorim’s interaction now revealed – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Saturday’s win over Sunderland will have helped relieve some of the pressure on Ruben Amorim following Manchester United’s dismal start to the new season.

One of the biggest criticisms faced by the head coach is his reluctance to tweak his system and adapt to the players at his disposal.

And this season, the Portuguese tactician has surprisingly overlooked the academy, which he had trusted immensely the previous term.

Sending Harry Amass out on loan perplexed quite a few people, while Chido Obi’s absence has also raised eyebrows.

    Rise of JJ Gabriel

However, one Carrington wonderkid who has caught the former Sporting CP boss’ eye is JJ Gabriel. He is 14 and is already setting the stage alight with his performances for the U18s this season.

So impressed has Amorim been with him that he met him personally and even promised to call him to train with the first team on occasions this season.

He is in line to become the youngest-ever Premier League debutant, and The Manchester Evening News detailed what transpired when the Portuguese spent time with the England U15 international.

Dubbed “the best talent United’s academy has ever seen”, Amorim explained his system and his philosophy to the young attacker, while also explaining the need to have a strong work ethic at his age.

Amorim recounted his experiences with former United legend Cristiano Ronaldo, who was known to arrive first to training while being the last to leave.

“United know they have a special talent on their hands and recently introduced Gabriel to Ruben Amorim. During their exchange, Amorim spent time discussing his philosophy and stressed the importance of working hard, even recalling an anecdote about Cristiano Ronaldo as an example.

    Interaction with Amorim

“Amorim played alongside Ronaldo for Portugal’s national team. The United boss recounted stories about Ronaldo’s work ethic – he was the first to report for training and the last to leave.

“Gabriel does not lack a work ethic. He is already living like a dedicated professional athlete with his diet and recovery sessions, and wakes up at 6am most days to make his dream a reality.”

Thankfully, JJ Gabriel’s work ethic is also top-notch. United have him for two years, but lots of clubs are on his tail.

Darren Fletcher, his U18s coach, is helping him hone his game even further by playing him up top. INEOS will need to convince him to stay and prove his worth at Old Trafford. A first-team debut would do nicely.
