Tottenham Make Move for Bayern’s Joao Palhinha as Midfield Overhaul Continues

    [ad_1]

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly opened talks over a potential move for Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha, as the North London club looks to bolster its midfield ahead of a crucial season.

According to GiveMeSport, Spurs have made initial contact to explore the possibility of signing the Portuguese international, who has struggled for minutes under new Bayern boss Vincent Kompany. Despite joining the Bundesliga giants last summer in a £47 million deal from Fulham, Palhinha has failed to make a lasting impact in Germany.

Palhinha’s Bayern Struggles Spark Premier League Return Talk

The 30-year-old was once a dominant force in Fulham’s midfield, earning widespread praise for his physicality, tackling, and positional awareness. However, his time at Bayern has been far from ideal. Limited to just 25 appearances and under 1,000 minutes of action, Palhinha spent much of the season either injured or on the bench—often overlooked even when fully fit.

With frustration mounting over his lack of game time, Palhinha is now seriously considering his future. A move back to the Premier League could offer him the regular minutes and competitive edge he craves.

Spurs Eye Midfield Reinforcements Under Thomas Frank

New Spurs manager Thomas Frank is keen on reshaping the squad, especially with Champions League football returning to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Following the signing of Mohammed Kudus and an imminent deal for Morgan Gibbs-White, attention now turns to securing a commanding presence in midfield.

Palhinha, known for his tenacity and defensive solidity, fits the profile perfectly. While Tottenham have only made informal enquiries so far, they remain interested and could firm up their interest soon.

    Financial Hurdles Remain

Bayern Munich are open to letting Palhinha go but will likely demand a significant portion of their original £47 million outlay. Additionally, the midfielder’s wages could pose a challenge for Spurs.

Despite these hurdles, Tottenham remain hopeful and are unlikely to walk away if a fair deal can be negotiated. With Palhinha open to a fresh start, this is a transfer to watch closely in the coming weeks.

  • Man United weighing up shock move for Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Man United weighing up shock move for Dominic Calvert-Lewin

    [ad_1]

Manchester United’s summer transfer activity has been quiet so far, with Matheus Cunha the only addition to date. However, with new manager Ruben Amorim reportedly unconvinced by both Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Højlund as long-term solutions, United are actively searching for a fresh option up front.

According to The Sun, the club is now considering a surprise swoop for Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The former Everton striker is currently a free agent after parting ways with the Toffees, making him an attractive option for a side looking to strengthen on a budget. His Premier League experience and availability without a transfer fee have made him a potential target under consideration.

    Calvert-Lewin a Risky Fit for United’s Ambitions

While Calvert-Lewin checks the boxes from a financial perspective, his suitability from a sporting standpoint raises concerns. The 27-year-old has struggled with injuries and inconsistent form, scoring fewer than 20 goals combined over the last four Premier League seasons. For a United side in need of reliable firepower, gambling on an injury-prone forward could backfire.

Amorim may be better served continuing to develop Zirkzee and Højlund, especially given Zirkzee’s promise in a secondary striker role. Pairing either of them with Cunha could offer a more dynamic and long-term solution — one that aligns with the Portuguese manager’s rebuilding vision.

    Pre-Season Clock Ticking

United’s first pre-season fixture against Leeds United in Stockholm is less than two weeks away. They’ll then travel to the United States for further friendlies. With time running out, the pressure is on the club to secure reinforcements early. From Amorim’s perspective, getting new signings in as soon as possible is crucial for proper integration into the squad before the Premier League kicks off.

A decision on Calvert-Lewin may need to be made swiftly — but for Manchester United, the question remains: is he worth the risk?

  • Everton Ready to Splash £43m for Conor Gallagher in Bold Transfer Move

Everton Ready to Splash £43m for Conor Gallagher in Bold Transfer Move

    [ad_1]

Everton are reportedly prepared to make a big-money move to bring Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher back to the Premier League, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Gallagher’s Journey: From Chelsea to Madrid

A product of Chelsea’s famed Cobham academy, Gallagher’s rise to prominence came during a standout loan spell at Crystal Palace. That stint earned him a spot in Chelsea’s first team under Mauricio Pochettino in 2023/24, where he became a regular starter.

Despite being a key figure at Stamford Bridge, the Blues chose to cash in last summer, selling him to Atletico Madrid. The Englishman made a promising start under Diego Simeone but faded as the season wore on, starting just one match in the Club World Cup — and even being subbed off at half-time.

Atletico Open to Offers Amid Midfield Reshuffle

With the arrivals of Johnny Cardozo and Alejandro Baena, Gallagher’s role at the Estadio Metropolitano has become increasingly uncertain. Atletico are reportedly open to letting him leave if a suitable offer arrives — and Everton are ready to pounce.

The Toffees are said to be willing to offer around £43 million to bring the 25-year-old to the newly renamed Hill Dickinson Stadium. But they aren’t alone, with Wolves also showing serious interest and potentially matching Everton’s bid.

    A Perfect Premier League Fit?

While Gallagher may have struggled with the technical demands of La Liga, his high-intensity style, pressing ability, and relentless work rate make him tailor-made for Premier League football. A move to Goodison Park — now under David Moyes’ leadership — could be just what he needs to reignite his career.

Moyes values energy, discipline, and physical presence — all attributes Gallagher offers in spades. However, given the Englishman’s reduced role in Spain, Everton may look to negotiate a slightly lower fee.

    Final Verdict

Conor Gallagher to Everton is one to watch. With the Premier League kickoff fast approaching, the Toffees will need to act swiftly if they want to beat Wolves and land one of England’s most industrious midfielders.

  • Arsenal lining up move for Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche?

Arsenal lining up move for Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche?

    [ad_1]

Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a move for AS Monaco’s rising star Maghnes Akliouche as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

According to L’Equipe, the Gunners have identified the 23-year-old French winger as a key target following his standout performances last season. Akliouche was a driving force for Monaco, racking up 19 goal contributions in 43 appearances across all competitions. His form also earned him a spot in France’s Olympic squad, which finished as runners-up last summer.

Having emerged through Monaco’s youth system and breaking into the first team in 2022, Akliouche has grown into a vital player for the Ligue 1 outfit. With three years remaining on his current deal, Monaco are in a strong negotiating position, but are reportedly open to selling if their £60 million valuation is met.

    Arsenal’s Attacking Plans Taking Shape

Mikel Arteta is keen to add depth and creativity on the flanks, and Akliouche’s versatility and flair make him an attractive option. Arsenal are also closing in on the signing of Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres, and adding Akliouche would further strengthen their frontline.

The North London club were impressed by Akliouche’s individual display against them in last season’s UEFA Champions League group stage, despite Monaco suffering a heavy defeat. His performance left a lasting impression on Arsenal’s recruitment team.

    Advantage in Agent Connection

Both Gyökeres and Akliouche are represented by the same agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, which could give Arsenal a strategic edge in negotiations. While agreeing personal terms is not expected to be an issue, convincing Monaco to part with their prized asset will require a determined effort.

Akliouche’s potential and current form have put him on the radar of several European giants, but Arsenal appear ready to make a serious push to bring him to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin unlikely to move to Manchester United due to massive wage demands – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Manchester United’s first port of call this summer was adding goals to the first team after a dismal campaign in front of goal last time out.

Ruben Amorim has realised that Rasmus Hojlund cannot lead the line on his own, while he also needs to add creativity up front after seeing the Dane struggle due to the lack of service.

Which explains why Matheus Cunha has been brought in, while the Red Devils are also inching closer to a deal for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.

Both the Brazilian and the Cameroonian can play up front on their own, but Amorim would ideally like a ruthless No.9 which is why INEOS were trying to sign Liam Delap, and Viktor Gyokeres.

United cannot afford the wages of Dominic Calvert-Lewin

While the Englishman chose Chelsea, the Swede seems to prefer Arsenal currently, which is why the 20-time English league champions have pivoted to Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa.

His asking price and the Gunners’ lingering interest have emerged as obstacles for the Red Devils, and they had kept Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a backup option in case the void up front needed an emergency solution late on in the window.

But as revealed by journalist Ben Jacobs, the former Everton ace’s personal demands are quite staggering, which is why INEOS have stepped away from talks for now. He was earning £100,000 gross per week at Goodison Park (via capology).

The England international, owing to his free agent status, wants high weekly wages, and they will only return in case all their other plans go south, or the striker becomes desperate and reduces his demands late on in the window.

    What next for United?

“Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s wage demands are very high, and therefore it is unlikely that Man United will move in that direction unless the demands decrease or they have a hole in the squad later in the window. As a free agent, the player will be rigid on his demands.”

He has over 50 Premier League goals for the Toffees, and managed three goals and two assists last season. On the face of it, it looks like a poor season, but he completed 90 minutes on only eight occasions.

The season prior, he had eight goals and three assists, again respectable figures, while back in the 20/21 season, he netted 21 times while also registering five assists.

His biggest asset is his physical ability and his aerial prowess, something United have lacked since Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo left. Not to mention his Premier League experience. But as of now, a deal looks unlikely.

  • Liverpool weighing up £46m move for Atalanta star Ademola Lookman

Liverpool weighing up £46m move for Atalanta star Ademola Lookman

    [ad_1]

Liverpool are reportedly “very interested” in signing Atalanta’s in-form forward Ademola Lookman this summer, according to Italian outlet TuttoJuve. The Reds are actively strengthening their squad ahead of the new season, and Lookman has emerged as a key target.

The 27-year-old Nigerian international is coming off the best season of his career. He scored 20 goals across all competitions, including five in seven UEFA Champions League appearances, and provided seven assists — tallying 27 goal involvements overall. His performances have made him one of Europe’s most consistent wide forwards over the last three years.

Having previously played in the Premier League for Everton, Fulham, and Leicester City, the London-born forward is no stranger to English football. A return to the top flight now looks increasingly likely.

According to TuttoJuve, Liverpool are among several clubs vying for Lookman’s signature — with Arsenal, Barcelona, and Juventus also in the race. However, Atalanta are not willing to let their star man go without a fight, reportedly slapping a £46 million price tag on him.

    Diaz Out, Lookman In?

Amid speculation surrounding Luis Diaz’s future at Anfield, Lookman could be lined up as a direct replacement for the Colombian winger. Diaz has been linked with moves away in recent months, and Lookman — who is Premier League-proven and entering his prime — fits the bill as a like-for-like successor.

Liverpool have already made early moves in the transfer window, securing Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth and Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen. A big-money bid for Frimpong’s teammate Florian Wirtz has also been reported, underlining the Reds’ serious intent to challenge again next season.

With his speed, dribbling, and clinical finishing, Lookman would add dynamism and depth to Liverpool’s front line. Fans will now hope Michael Edwards can once again work his negotiation magic and bring the reigning African Footballer of the Year to Anfield at the right price.

  • "It would give a huge boost": Club boss confesses "dream" of signing United star in ultimate fairytale move

    [ad_1]

Middelfart Boldklub manager Kim Engstrøm has opened up on his “dream” of signing departing Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen.

Eriksen’s departure was confirmed by United last month after the final game of the 2034/25 Premier League season.

United announced that Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof will all be leaving once their contracts expire on June 30.

This means that Eriksen is set to be a free agent after three years at Old Trafford.

It doesn’t appear like he is short of suitors. Eriksen has been linked to MLS clubs, Ajax, Galatasaray and more recently, Championship outfit Wrexham.

Eriksen also strongly hinted that he might be open to a return to Tottenham Hotspur, who have appointed Thomas Frank as their new boss.

Frank and Eriksen worked together for a season at Brentford before the midfielder joined United on a free.

Now, as he approaches the twilight of a distinguished career, Eriksen has been handed the opportunity to complete what would be a true fairytale move.

Middelfart boss Kim Engstrøm, who leads the very club from Eriksen’s hometown where the midfielder began his football journey, has made it clear that the door is wide open for the United star.

Speaking to Tipsbladet, Engstrøm remarked, “I think that if you ask all the residents of Middelfart, they all have a dream that Christian Eriksen will one day play senior football for Middelfart.”

“Now we got Mads Greve home this winter from Vendsyssel, and I know that he is not quite at Eriksen’s level, but it has lifted the town a lot that one of their boys has returned home.”

“It has also given a boost in terms of spectators. We have gone from 3-400 in the autumn to having over 1000 in several matches and 1500 most recently.”

“It’s clear that it would give a huge boost to Middelfart Municipality. As a coach, it would also be a dream. I think he plans to play a few more years abroad before returning home, and then the question is whether he’s too old.”

Engstrøm added, “He has family in Middelfart, so he is here sometimes, and in the clubhouse there are shirts with Eriksen and Falk hanging. The parent club had its 125th anniversary a month ago, where he also sent a video greeting , so there is contact and a dialogue.”

“So far there has been no dialogue in relation to playing matches, but the dream is always alive for Middelfart . Whether it also lives inside Christian’s head, I don’t know.”

According to Tipsbladet, Eriksen has kept close ties with Middelfart over the years. When he signed for Tottenham, he contributed 300,000 kroner to the club, and during his stint at Ajax, he donated a synthetic ‘Cruyff Court’ to support their development.

However, at present, Eriksen is not thought to be considering a return to play in his native Denmark.

Dusan Vlahovic pushing for Manchester United move, dreaming of Premier League switch – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Manchester United’s striker hunt has not gone according to plan, with the Red Devils looking like they will miss out on multiple top targets. Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic has seen this and is pushing to join Ruben Amorim’s side.

It all started with United’s chase of Liam Delap following Jason Wilcox’s persuasion, but the ex-Ipswich Town ace opted to move to Chelsea instead.

The head coach was demanding a reunion with Viktor Gyokeres, and despite the 20-time English league champions’ best efforts, the Swede looks set to complete a move to Arsenal as things stand.

Victor Osimhen is another top target, whose wage demands have meant a concrete approach has never taken place. The Old Trafford side are running out of quality options to replace Rasmus Hojlund, who endured a dismal previous campaign.

Dusan Vlahovic pushing for United switch

A cost-effective swoop for Juventus’ Serbian hitman might not be the worst option at this stage, given Huge Ekitike’s price tag.

As relayed by The Peoples Person, the Bianconeri are ready to sell him for a cut-price fee of only £20 million. And the 25-year-old is no slouch either.

He managed 15 goals and five assists last season, and the season before, he was adjudged Striker of the Season in Serie A as he netted 16 goals in the league, which shows his pedigree.

As reported by Football Transfers, the former Fiorentina ace is pushing for a move to the Theatre of Dreams, and it was the player’s camp who got in touch with INEOS over a possible move.

Vlahovic’s dream is to play in the Premier League, and after missing out on a chance to move to England during his Fiorentina days, the stars might be aligning this time around.

His wages will be an issue

“FootballTransfers understands that Manchester United have held direct talks with the representatives of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic as the club intensify efforts to add a reliable No.9 this summer.

“Sources close to the situation reveal that it was Vlahovic’s camp who approached Man Utd, with the player increasingly pushing for a move to the Premier League, his dream destination.

“Vlahovic is said to view Man Utd as an ideal step in his career, and recent discussions were described as ‘positive and constructive.’ The Serbian forward is believed to be motivated by the idea of working under Ruben Amorim and playing in a more open, physically demanding league.”

The Juventus No.9 excels physically, and his pace and power while carrying the ball should serve him well in the English top-flight.

His wages might be an issue, with Dusan Vlahovic currently earning €373,846 gross per week (via capology). Whether the Serbia international agrees to take a paycut remains to be seen.

Bryan Mbeumo still leaning towards Manchester United move despite Thomas Frank’s reunion plans – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Manchester United remain locked in talks with Brentford over a move for Bryan Mbeumo, but Tottenham Hotspur’s entry has complicated matters.

Especially with Spurs now appointing former Brentford manager Thomas Frank as their new boss. There have even been murmurs that the North London outfit are even ready to outbid the Red Devils to land the Cameroonian.

But Sky Sports have claimed that the 20-goal forward is still leaning towards moving to Old Trafford instead of Spurs, with the 20-time English league champions in the process of finalising their improved second offer.

The Bees are open to the 25-year-old’s exit, but are demanding more than £60 million to let him leave with United’s first offer of £45 million plus £10 million in bonuses rejected.

Bryan Mbeumo still leaning towards United move

The former Troyes star explained to Sky that transfer speculation is something new for him but he always knew that performing well meant this day would eventually come and he has to accept it.

“It (transfer speculation) is a bit new for me I would say! I think it can be the life of a footballer and you need to accept it.”

Scoring 20 goals for the London side is something the forward is proud of, explaining how it was an amazing season both personally and collectively for Brentford.

“It’s been my best season so far in the Premier League. And even collectively, I think we did play very good games. I think we’ve been unlucky to chase the Europe spot, but I think it’s been a fantastic season.”

He was also asked about his former boss’ move to North London, and Mbeumo was quick to praise Frank and his contributions to his career.

    Praises Thomas Frank

“He’s done so much for me. He literally trusted me from the start,” Mbeumo said. “I think he developed the team so well.

“He developed me as a human and a player as well. So I can only wish him all the best, and I’m sure he’s going to do well.”

There is nothing alarming from the player’s comments, and as long as INEOS can cough up the money, Bryan Mbeumo seems destined for Old Trafford.

Brentford are playing hardball over his price due to developments with Frank but the ball is in INEOS’ court. There is currently no need to panic, it is still advantage Manchester United.

  • Manchester United Eye Move for OGC Nice Goalkeeper Marcin Bulka

Manchester United Eye Move for OGC Nice Goalkeeper Marcin Bulka

    [ad_1]

Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a summer swoop for Polish international Marcin Bulka, as the club looks to strengthen its goalkeeping options ahead of the 2025/26 season.

According to Sports Zone, the Red Devils have identified the 25-year-old OGC Nice star as a potential alternative to the under-fire Andre Onana. United are seeking more consistency between the posts, and Bulka’s standout performances in Ligue 1 have not gone unnoticed.

Bulka Open to Premier League Return

Bulka, who previously spent time at Chelsea earlier in his career, is said to be open to a return to England. After informing OGC Nice of his desire to move on, the door is now wide open for a transfer. He’s impressed in France since joining Nice permanently in 2022, racking up close to 100 appearances, 30 clean sheets, and proving to be a reliable last line of defence.

    Competition Brewing

Manchester United aren’t the only ones circling. Aston Villa are also believed to be monitoring Bulka’s situation, meaning United will need to move quickly if they want to land their man. With Altay Bayindir likely to leave and questions still swirling around Onana, the Pole could be exactly what Erik ten Hag needs to solidify his defence.

A return to the Premier League could be just around the corner for Marcin Bulka — and Old Trafford might be calling.
