Joshua Zirkzee: Amorim’s plans for forward now revealed – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Following Manchester United’s humiliating exit from the Carabao Cup, the number of matches the team will play has gone down drastically.

Until the start of the FA Cup, the Red Devils only have the Premier League to play for. And while Ruben Amorim is delighted with the added training time, several players are suffering due to the lack of game time.

Joshua Zirkzee, who started 15 times last season under the head coach, has yet to start a single game so far this campaign.

He has seen a grand total of 82 minutes of action, and remained an unused substitute in last weekend’s win over Sunderland.

    Joshua Zirkzee struggles

The 24-year-old has been left frustrated with the lack of minutes, and numerous reports have suggested that he is willing to part ways as early as January.

With the World Cup just around the corner, the ex-Bologna ace is hoping to get back into the Netherlands national team and for that to happen, he will have to play regularly.

Multiple Serie A clubs as well as English top-flight sides are willing to take a punt on the Dutchman, but as per Givemesport, Amorim does not want him to leave.

In fact, United have no intention of sanctioning an exit in the winter window, and come next summer, they will only entertain offers of above £43 million, the money they splurged in 2024 to bring him to the Theatre of Dreams.

“Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee is prepared to leave the club in the January transfer window, even though manager Ruben Amorim wants him to stay, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed on the Market Madness podcast.

    Amorim’s plans

“According to GIVEMESPORT sources, Zirkzee is prepared to leave Manchester United when the January transfer window opens, but manager Amorim wants him to remain at Old Trafford for the second half of the campaign.

“United are reluctant to sanction an exit for Zirkzee in January, and a permanent sale is unlikely to be entertained for a book loss, just 18 months on from when they paid Bologna £43m to secure his signature.”

With Benjamin Sesko now at the club, Joshua Zirkzee is unlikely to get too many minutes up front, while Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount are ahead of him in the pecking order when it comes to the No.10 role.

His link-up play did impress fans, but as of now, there is not clear role for him, and it will be interesting to see what happens to him once the window opens again in January.

United’s plans for Diego Leon now revealed – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Manchester United’s summer spending spree seems to be finally paying off, with Benjamin Sesko and Senne Lammens shining against Sunderland.

The Slovenian scored his second consecutive Premier League goal on Saturday, while the Belgian proved to be a colossal presence at the back.

Add Bryan Mbeumo’s bright start, and Matheus Cunha impressing, it is safe to say INEOS have got it right. But one player is yet to see a single minute of action for the first team.

Diego Leon arrived in the summer from Cerro Porteno, and the Red Devils were always likely to take it slow with him given his inexperience at the top level.

Diego Leon: start to life at United

It was strange to see Harry Amass get sent out on loan instead of the Paraguayan, who has made the matchday squad four times so far.

His only minutes have arrived for the U21s, and he looked shaky against Liverpool and was eventually hooked at half-time.

There have been murmurs that he is simply not ready and that a loan exit is possible in January. But Givemesport have a different take on the left-back.

The report claims the 18-year-old has impressed his new teammates in training with Casemiro even taking him under his wing.

And the 20-time English league champions are in no hurry with the Paraguay U20 international. They plan to observe him in training and offer him minutes in the U21s before potentially handing him his senior debut.

The defender has no qualms about the club’s approach, and is enjoying his time at Carrington after having adapted to his new surroundings.

“Diego Leon has been settling in well at Manchester United following his arrival earlier this year, according to GIVEMESPORT sources.

    United’s plans for him

“The young full-back has been eased into life in England, making just one appearance so far in Premier League 2 as he adjusts to the pace and physicality of the game. United’s plan is clear, to give Leon time to find his feet and develop naturally before any step towards senior involvement.

“Sources have told GIVEMESPORT that Leon has been doing well, nothing flashy, nothing alarming, just a steady, professional start to his time at Carrington. Those close to the player say he’s enjoying the experience and seems to be liking everything about life at the club so far.

“For now, the focus at United remains on patience and progression. The club are in no rush, preferring to let Leon grow through training sessions and development matches before considering him for first-team opportunities. That approach has been key, and all signs suggest the youngster is responding well to the environment surrounding him.”

Interestingly, he has already been called up to the Paraguay senior team during the international break and it will be intriguing to see if he earns minutes there.

That might make his claim for first team action stronger, especially if he impresses.

Carlos Baleba: Brighton’s transfer activity offers encouraging signs for Man United’s plans – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Brighton & Hove Albion’s transfer plans could be exactly what Manchester United want to hear.

It is no secret that United are keen on Carlos Baleba. The Cameroon international’s front-footed style, combined with his mobility, which allows him to cover huge ground with ease, and his ability to excel out of possession, has made him one of the standout midfield targets for Ruben Amorim.

The Brighton midfield general was viewed as the ideal signing for Amorim’s tactical setup. But with the Seagulls adopting a firm “not for sale” stance, United saw little hope in pursuing the deal.

    Baleba 2026 plan

INEOS opted to postpone the transfer, with plans to revive it in 2026.

While United intend to close that deal in 2026, despite competition from rivals like Liverpool, an intriguing update has emerged from the Amex.

Brighton recently appointed former Arsenal chief Jason Ayto as their new sporting director, following the departure of David Weir.

Taking over from Weir, Ayto is expected to continue Brighton’s sharp recruitment strategy. And according to TBR, he already has a clear idea of one or two players he wants to bring in to kick off his tenure in style.

A while back, Arsenal were linked with Sevilla’s Lucien Agoume, although nothing materialised.

    Agoume wanted at Brighton

The midfielder’s links to an Emirates switch may well have been driven by Ayto, as he now wants Aguome at Brighton.

    TBR reports:

“[Ayto] has targets in mind, and he brings with him some targets from his Arsenal days.

“Agoume is recognised as a player of huge potential and one who Brighton now see as a possible target heading into 2026.

“Although the Seagulls deny they are looking at Carlos Baleba replacements, it is clearly something they have to plan for heading into next year.”

Agoume is a classy midfielder whose style mirrors Baleba’s so closely that some struggle to tell them apart.

That is likely why Brighton is pursuing him; he is the perfect replacement for the 21-year-old midfield enforcer.

It is worth noting that United, alongside Arsenal, also considered signing the young La Liga midfielder as an alternative to Baleba.

    Blessing in disguise

However, United’s decision not to pursue Agoume will prove wise; it could have complicated their pursuit of Baleba.

Resisting the temptation to sign Agoume may now pay off.

If Brighton does land him, he becomes Baleba’s replacement. And with Baleba still feeling the sting of a missed move to United, the Seagulls may finally be open to letting him go.

Bryan Mbeumo still leaning towards Manchester United move despite Thomas Frank’s reunion plans – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Manchester United remain locked in talks with Brentford over a move for Bryan Mbeumo, but Tottenham Hotspur’s entry has complicated matters.

Especially with Spurs now appointing former Brentford manager Thomas Frank as their new boss. There have even been murmurs that the North London outfit are even ready to outbid the Red Devils to land the Cameroonian.

But Sky Sports have claimed that the 20-goal forward is still leaning towards moving to Old Trafford instead of Spurs, with the 20-time English league champions in the process of finalising their improved second offer.

The Bees are open to the 25-year-old’s exit, but are demanding more than £60 million to let him leave with United’s first offer of £45 million plus £10 million in bonuses rejected.

Bryan Mbeumo still leaning towards United move

The former Troyes star explained to Sky that transfer speculation is something new for him but he always knew that performing well meant this day would eventually come and he has to accept it.

“It (transfer speculation) is a bit new for me I would say! I think it can be the life of a footballer and you need to accept it.”

Scoring 20 goals for the London side is something the forward is proud of, explaining how it was an amazing season both personally and collectively for Brentford.

“It’s been my best season so far in the Premier League. And even collectively, I think we did play very good games. I think we’ve been unlucky to chase the Europe spot, but I think it’s been a fantastic season.”

He was also asked about his former boss’ move to North London, and Mbeumo was quick to praise Frank and his contributions to his career.

    Praises Thomas Frank

“He’s done so much for me. He literally trusted me from the start,” Mbeumo said. “I think he developed the team so well.

“He developed me as a human and a player as well. So I can only wish him all the best, and I’m sure he’s going to do well.”

There is nothing alarming from the player’s comments, and as long as INEOS can cough up the money, Bryan Mbeumo seems destined for Old Trafford.

Brentford are playing hardball over his price due to developments with Frank but the ball is in INEOS’ court. There is currently no need to panic, it is still advantage Manchester United.
