Estevao and Dario Essugo arrived through previously arranged deals, while Mamadou Sarr, Mike Penders, and Kendry Paez also joined but were promptly loaned to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg.

Both Strasbourg and Chelsea operate under the ownership of BlueCo, a consortium headed by Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali.

Interestingly, despite being part of the same multi-club structure, the two teams are permitted to transfer players between each other. This opens the door for a possible move involving Joaquin Panichelli.

Panichelli has made a major impact since signing for Strasbourg in a €17 million (£14.9m) transfer from Spanish club Alaves.

The 23-year-old leads the Ligue 1 scoring charts with nine goals in 12 appearances and has drawn comparisons to Alan Shearer from Strasbourg boss Liam Rosenior, who is well-versed in English football.

“Panichelli is like the Argentine Alan Shearer,” said Rosenior, as per TYC Sports.

“There aren’t many strikers like him anymore, so good inside the box. His heading tempo is incredible, he does it constantly in training. He’s magnificent, his start doesn’t surprise me.”

With his form continuing at the Stade de la Meinau, a report from Spain indicates Chelsea are eyeing him for a potential move next season. The Blues reportedly admire his goalscoring attributes, according to Fichajes.

As previously noted, Chelsea and Strasbourg can conduct transfers between each other despite shared ownership.

However, Premier League regulations require that any such deals be reviewed to confirm they reflect fair market value, with independent auditors overseeing the process.

Chelsea are among several clubs interested in the prolific Argentine striker. AC Milan have also been mentioned, though Panichelli’s agent, Martin Guastadisegno, has downplayed any recent contact from the Serie A side.

Speaking to Milan Press, he said: “No news from Milan. I haven’t heard from anyone yet, despite having a great relationship with Furlani and Moncada. Have there been any contacts in recent weeks? None, but he’s a name Milan have known about and been following for some time.”
