Harry Kane race: United must improve on the pitch to pip Spurs – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

When Rasmus Hojlund signed for Manchester United, then-manager Erik ten Hag had asked the Glazers for additional support to avoid overburdening the Dane.

The club attempted to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur, but Daniel Levy’s insistence on not strengthening a direct domestic rival meant the Englishman ultimately moved to Bayern Munich.

Ultimately, nobody else was signed. The Denmark international emerged as the top scorer, but 16 goals in all competitions can hardly be classified as a world-class season.

It was clear that he needed more help alongside him, which is why, after INEOS took charge of sporting affairs at the club, they tried to bring in more quality up front.

Harry Kane has been a long-term target

Once again, the Red Devils tried to go after Kane, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe a huge fan of the England international. But the costs proved too prohibitive, and Joshua Zirkzee arrived instead.

It is safe to say both Hojlund and the Dutch star failed to set the stage alight last season, with the Danish ace departing to Napoli this summer while the Netherlands international could follow suit very soon.

New signing Benjamin Sesko is showing signs of being the perfect striker for the Red Devils, but INEOS’ wish to try and bring in Harry Kane remains as strong as ever.

The fact that the 32-year-old has a relatively low release clause next summer makes him an even more attractive proposition.

United vs Spurs for Harry Kane

Bayern Munich are desperate to keep a hold of their “phenomenal” striker, but as per Teamtalk, his former club Spurs are ready to break the bank to bring him back to North London.

They hold the edge as of now, due to Kane’s emotional connect with the club, and the 20-time English league champions will have to seriously improve their form on the pitch to pip them in the race.

“Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up for a blockbuster move to bring Harry Kane back to north London next summer, aiming to reunite with their former star striker, TEAMtalk can reveal.

“The 32-year-old England captain, currently at Bayern Munich, is eager to return to the Premier League to chase Alan Shearer’s all-time scoring record of 260 goals. Kane, with 213 Premier League goals, believes he can surpass the milestone with a few productive seasons at Tottenham.

    Spurs hold the edge

“Sources close to the club indicate that Tottenham’s owners, ENIC, are prepared to break the bank to secure Kane’s signature, covering his hefty release clause and matching his substantial wages.

“The move is seen as a statement of intent from the Lewis family, who are keen to deliver a marquee signing to boost Spurs’ ambitions under Thomas Frank. The Danish manager has revitalised the squad, and Kane’s return could propel Tottenham into serious contention for silverware.

“Manchester United are also in the race for Kane, viewing him as a key piece in their rebuilding project. However, their chances hinge on improving their current mid-table position in the Premier League.”

Now over to Ruben Amorim to improve the team’s fortunes on the pitch. Sesko could certainly do with someone coming in to take the load off of his young shoulders.

Joshua Zirkzee’s price tag set as Brighton storm into race for Man United star – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Brighton and Hove Albion have reportedly become the latest club to join the race for Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee.

    Zirkzee struggles at United

After finishing last season on a high following a difficult start, Zirkzee has struggled to build on that momentum, leaving his future shrouded in extreme uncertainty.

During the summer transfer window, United brought in three attacking players: Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko. As a result, Zirkzee has slipped down the pecking order and found opportunities on the pitch increasingly hard to come by.

Zirkzee has yet to start a game this term, only managing 82 minutes of action across all competitions. He has been an unused substitute on four separate occasions.

A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that the 24-year-old is unhappy with his situation and is firmly open to leaving United in January in search of regular playing time elsewhere.

Zirkzee is believed to be keen on forcing his way into the Netherlands team for the World Cup and in order to do so, he can’t afford to be on the bench.

There is no shortage of interest in the former Bologna man. He has been linked with the likes of Napoli, Juventus, AS Roma, Everton and West Ham.

Now, according to Graeme Bailey [via Sussex World], Brighton are also eyeing the disgruntled United star.

    Brighton want Zirkzee

The report states that Brighton are a “potential destination” for Zirkzee ahead of the winter window.

It’s understood that the player is valued at around €35–40 million, indicating that United could be open to letting him go after just two seasons.

Ruben Amorim is thought to be a fan of Zirkzee and would prefer to retain him, but circumstances could ultimately necessitate a parting of ways.

However, there are still several weeks to go before January, and much could change in that time. It also remains uncertain whether Brighton would be prepared to spend that much on Zirkzee, particularly given his well-known desire for a new challenge.

  • Chelsea Join Man Utd and Tottenham in £30m Race for Yehor Yarmolyuk

Chelsea Join Man Utd and Tottenham in £30m Race for Yehor Yarmolyuk

    [ad_1]

Chelsea have entered the race to sign Brentford’s rising midfield star Yehor Yarmolyuk, joining Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in what’s shaping up to be a fierce Premier League transfer battle, according to TEAMtalk.

    Yarmolyuk’s Meteoric Rise at Brentford

Since arriving from SC Dnipro-1 in 2023, the Ukrainian international has become a cornerstone of Brentford’s midfield, making over 75 Premier League appearances. This season, he’s been ever-present under Keith Andrews, filling the void left by former captain Christian Nørgaard, who departed for Arsenal in the summer.

The 21-year-old’s consistent performances have not gone unnoticed. He caught Chelsea’s eye during Brentford’s thrilling 2-2 draw with the Blues in September, registering a chance created, two tackles, and seven recoveries, according to FOTMOB. His standout display in the Bees’ 3-1 victory over Manchester United—where he notched an assist—only amplified interest from England’s elite.

    The Premier League Trio Circle

Chelsea, despite already boasting big-money signings Enzo Fernández and Moisés Caicedo, are keen to add another dependable defensive midfielder to strengthen their long-term core.
Manchester United, meanwhile, view Yarmolyuk as a potential heir to Casemiro, with the Brazilian showing signs of decline.
Tottenham Hotspur also have a strong case—Thomas Frank, now Spurs’ head coach, previously managed the youngster at Brentford and is eager for a reunion in North London.

    Transfer Tug-of-War Looms

Brentford remain reluctant to sell their prized asset this winter, but TEAMtalk reports that a £30 million offer could tempt them to reconsider.

With Chelsea, United, and Spurs all circling, the battle for Yarmolyuk’s signature could heat up as January approaches. His blend of energy, tactical discipline, and Premier League experience makes him one of the most coveted young midfielders in England right now—and his next move could be pivotal for any club looking to dominate the midfield battles ahead.

  • West Ham United join race to sign Real Madrid starlet Endrick on loan

West Ham United join race to sign Real Madrid starlet Endrick on loan

    [ad_1]

West Ham United are reportedly eyeing an ambitious move for Brazilian wonderkid Endrick, as the 19-year-old struggles for regular minutes at Real Madrid.

According to a report from Fichajes, the Hammers are ready to offer Endrick a loan escape route this January, hoping to bring one of football’s most exciting young forwards to the Premier League.

Endrick Needs Game Time to Shine

Despite his immense potential, Endrick has found first-team opportunities limited at the Santiago Bernabéu. Competing with global stars like Vinícius Jr. and Rodrygo has left him sidelined more often than not. For a player of his talent, consistent game time is crucial — and West Ham could provide exactly that.

A loan stint in England’s top flight would expose the young Brazilian to a high-intensity environment, helping him develop both physically and mentally. The Premier League experience could prove invaluable, allowing him to return to Madrid next season as a more complete player.

    Why West Ham Need Endrick

West Ham have endured a stuttering start to the campaign and are desperate for attacking reinforcements. Endrick’s versatility — capable of playing across the front line — makes him a perfect fit for David Moyes’ side. His flair, pace, and finishing could inject much-needed creativity and energy into the Hammers’ attack.

With Valencia and Real Sociedad also keen, West Ham must move swiftly to secure his signature. Landing Endrick would not only bolster their squad but also signal their intent to climb the Premier League table after battling inconsistency in recent seasons.

For Real Madrid, a loan move could be a win-win — allowing their young star to gain valuable experience without losing him permanently. For West Ham, it could be a transformative signing that reignites their European ambitions.

  • Chelsea join race for Marc Guehi

Chelsea join race for Marc Guehi

    [ad_1]

Chelsea are preparing to make a bold push for Marc Guehi, with the Crystal Palace defender set to become one of the hottest free agents in European football next summer.

According to TBR Football’s Graeme Bailey, the Blues are firmly in the mix to sign Guehi on a Bosman deal in 2026. Liverpool came close to landing the England international on deadline day, but Crystal Palace pulled the plug after failing to secure a late replacement. The Reds remain frontrunners, but Chelsea are now positioning themselves to bring their former academy graduate back to Stamford Bridge.

    A Defender in High Demand

Guehi’s decision not to extend his stay at Selhurst Park has opened the door for Europe’s elite. Liverpool may lead the race, but Real Madrid are reportedly readying a lucrative offer to lure him to Spain, while Manchester City are monitoring the situation closely. Arsenal and Manchester United also expressed interest during the summer and could yet re-enter the picture.

For Chelsea, the appeal is clear. They are in the market for a top-class centre-back, and Guehi, who knows the club inside out from his Cobham Academy days, fits the bill perfectly. Securing him on a free transfer would also represent a major coup financially, allowing the Blues to strengthen without breaking the bank.

    Guehi Faces a Big Decision

Next summer promises to be career-defining for the 24-year-old. Unlike last year, when Liverpool were the standout suitors, Guehi will now have a wealth of options on the table. Whether he chooses a return to Stamford Bridge, a move to Merseyside, or a new adventure abroad, his next step will be one of the most closely watched transfer stories of 2026.

For Chelsea, luring Guehi back home would not just be a transfer win—it would be a statement of intent.

  • Arsenal join Man United in race to sign Zeno Debast

Arsenal join Man United in race to sign Zeno Debast

    [ad_1]

Arsenal may have enjoyed one of their most productive transfer windows in recent years, but Mikel Arteta’s push for the Premier League title could see them return to the market in 2025. According to Caught Offside, the Gunners have identified Sporting Lisbon’s Zeno Debast as a target, with scouts monitoring the Belgian centre-back closely.

Arsenal and Man Utd Set for Transfer Battle

Manchester United are also keen on the 21-year-old defender, who was brought to Lisbon by Ruben Amorim. Debast has a £70 million release clause, though both Arsenal and United are expected to test Sporting’s resolve with offers closer to half that figure.

    Why Debast Fits Arsenal’s Style

Debast’s ball progression, passing range, and dominance in the air make him a strong fit for Arteta’s system. However, Arsenal’s defensive depth is already growing. They are obliged to sign Piero Hincapie permanently from Bayer Leverkusen next summer and have already secured Cristhian Mosquera. That may push other priorities higher up the list, such as reinforcing the wings and finding reliable cover for David Raya in goal.

    United Hold an Advantage?

United, on the other hand, have an urgent need for reinforcements at centre-back. With Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof departing, Erik ten Hag is keen to add quality depth. Debast’s ability to play in both a back four and a three-man defence makes him an attractive option. His previous relationship with Amorim could also tilt the scales in United’s favour.

    Aston Villa Lurking, But Unlikely

Aston Villa are also admirers of Debast, but given his hefty price tag, it seems more likely that his future lies with one of the Premier League’s elite sides.

If Sporting are willing to negotiate, the coming months could see a fascinating transfer battle between Arsenal and Manchester United for one of Europe’s most promising young defenders.

  • West Ham join Tottenham in race for Morgan Gibbs-White ahead of January

West Ham join Tottenham in race for Morgan Gibbs-White ahead of January

    [ad_1]

West Ham United are preparing to rival Tottenham Hotspur for the signing of Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White in January.

The Hammers picked up their first Premier League win of the season last weekend with a convincing 3-0 victory over Forest, thanks to goals from Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paquetá and Callum Wilson. Despite that result, Graham Potter’s side have shown vulnerabilities in midfield, struggling for control in earlier defeats to Chelsea and Sunderland. Strengthening the engine room is now a priority, and Gibbs-White has emerged as a serious target, according to Caught Offside.

    Tottenham’s Previous Pursuit

Spurs were close to landing the 25-year-old this summer after meeting his £60 million release clause. However, Forest stood firm and quickly tied him down to a new deal without a buyout clause, underlining his importance. Gibbs-White was a standout performer last season, recording seven goals and 10 assists in the league.

    West Ham’s Potential Advantage

While Transfermarkt currently values the midfielder at £43 million, Forest are expected to demand a far higher fee to fend off interest. Even so, West Ham may hold an edge over Tottenham. The North London club moved on by signing Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig, and Thomas Frank is not thought to be in the market for another midfielder.

That leaves West Ham in a stronger position should they decide to push forward. The challenge will be financial, with Forest likely to demand a premium for their creative talisman.

A Test of West Ham’s Ambition

Whether West Ham can afford Gibbs-White remains uncertain, but their interest signals ambition under Potter. Landing the England international would not only address a key weakness but also represent a major statement of intent in their battle for European qualification.

  • Manchester United enter race to hijack Como’s move for Aymeric Laporte – Football Views

    [ad_1]

Manchester United are set to rival Serie A newcomers Como for the signing of Aymeric Laporte, with the experienced defender expected to leave Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr this summer.

Laporte, who only joined Al Nassr from Manchester City in 2023, has been told he is free to move on and is now weighing up a return to European football. United’s interest comes after their narrow 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford last weekend, where Ruben Amorim’s men showed promise but also underlined the need for defensive reinforcements.

United Eye Experience at the Back

With less than two weeks remaining in the transfer window, the Red Devils are pushing to add at least one more centre-back. Laporte, a four-time Premier League winner with Manchester City, is seen as an ideal candidate to bring leadership and title-winning pedigree to Amorim’s squad.

During his stint in Saudi Arabia, the Spaniard made 47 appearances for Al Nassr and even chipped in with 8 goals. But at 31, he is eager for a fresh challenge at the top level and has reportedly instructed his representatives to secure a move back to Europe.

    Como Agreement Under Threat

Italian side Como were believed to be close to finalising a deal for Laporte, with rumours suggesting personal terms had already been agreed. However, Manchester United’s late approach could turn the situation on its head, especially given the allure of returning to the Premier League — even if it means wearing the red of United, fierce rivals of his former club Manchester City.

For Amorim, Laporte’s arrival would not only strengthen United’s back line but also send a message of ambition heading into a crucial campaign. The next few days could prove decisive in one of the more intriguing twists of the summer transfer window.

  • Manchester United join race to sign John Victor – Football Views

    [ad_1]

Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a bid to sign Botafogo shot-stopper John Victor — a move that could see them beat Everton to the punch, according to Brazilian outlet Meia Hora.

After a dismal 15th-place finish last season, the Red Devils are in full rebuild mode under new boss Ruben Amorim. Their only January signing was Patrick Dorgu, but this summer promises to be busier, especially with Amorim eager to reshape the squad.

United made an early statement by snapping up Matheus Cunha from Wolves. However, their transfer activity has stalled since then, with no other incomings or outgoings confirmed. Several players including Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, and Tyrell Malacia have reportedly been told they’re not part of Amorim’s long-term plans and have been excluded from pre-season preparations.

Victor Eyed as Potential Onana Replacement

With André Onana struggling to impress last season, United are now weighing up a move for a new goalkeeper. While Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martínez and Lille’s Lucas Chevalier remain on the shortlist, John Victor has emerged as Amorim’s preferred option.

Scouts from Old Trafford were impressed with the 29-year-old’s performances at the Club World Cup and have recommended making a formal approach. Victor, who is available for a modest £6 million due to a release clause in his contract, is expected to receive an official offer from United in the coming days.

    Everton Still in the Picture

But United aren’t alone in the chase. Everton are also considering a move for the Brazilian keeper as they search for a reliable backup to England No.1 Jordan Pickford. With the departures of Joao Virginia and Asmir Begovic, the Toffees have been left thin in the goalkeeping department.

Whether it’s United or Everton who get the deal over the line, this could be one of the more intriguing under-the-radar battles of the summer transfer window.

  • West Ham Join Crystal Palace in Tiago Djalo Transfer Race

West Ham Join Crystal Palace in Tiago Djalo Transfer Race

    [ad_1]

West Ham United are ready to battle it out with Crystal Palace for the signature of Juventus defender Tiago Djalo, as both Premier League sides look to strengthen their backlines ahead of the new season.

According to Tuttosport, the Hammers have submitted an enquiry for the 25-year-old Portuguese centre-back, who spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at FC Porto. Djalo is on the radar of several clubs after a mixed spell in Portugal, and a Premier League switch could now be on the cards.

    Djalo’s Search for Consistency

Since his move from Lille to Juventus in January 2024, Djalo has found it tough to settle. With just one appearance for the Bianconeri before being loaned out, he was hoping for a fresh start at Porto—but he couldn’t cement a regular starting spot, tallying only 17 appearances across all competitions.

Despite limited game time, Djalo’s physical profile and potential have kept him firmly in the spotlight. He even chipped in with two goals for Porto, showcasing his threat on set pieces.

London Clubs Circle as Summer Heats Up

Crystal Palace have been long-time admirers of Djalo and remain keen as doubts linger over Marc Guehi’s future. Meanwhile, West Ham are exploring defensive reinforcements with doubts over Mavropanos and Nayef Aguerd’s consistency.

With both clubs eager to bolster their squads, the race for Djalo could heat up quickly. London may well be calling—but which club will win the tug of war?
