According to SPORT, via Tribal, the club is reportedly set to activate the purchase clause in Rashford’s loan deal, though discussions around the fee continue due to financial constraints.

Barcelona can finalize the deal for £26.2 million, but Rashford — whose contract with Manchester United runs until June 2028 — may need to accept a reduction from his current £315,000 weekly wage.

Meanwhile, another Barcelona figure could be on his way out at the end of the 25/26 campaign.

As reported by Sport, the club has unexpectedly decided not to extend Robert Lewandowski’s contract.

At present, the iconic Polish forward is set to become a free agent when his current deal expires next summer.

There are suggestions that Barcelona’s leadership believes Lewandowski can no longer press with the intensity Hansi Flick demands.

Additionally, at 37 years old, there are concerns that Lewandowski’s performance levels are beginning to wane.

According to Spanish outlet El Nacional, club executives are growing uneasy with his underwhelming performances, which they reportedly find disappointing.

The report claims that both president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco were skeptical about bringing Rashford in, favoring alternatives like Nico Williams or Luis Díaz.

Manager Hansi Flick, however, was the driving force behind the move, believing he could help Rashford rediscover the form that once made him a standout at Old Trafford.

The Spanish outlet cites Rashford’s salary demands and his preference for a switch to Camp Nou as key reasons behind Fenerbahce’s withdrawal.

“The situation to sign Rashford is practically impossible for Fenerbahce due to the high salary he has — earning £18 million per season — and because the striker wants to go to Barcelona,” the outlet says.

“At the moment, the option of him going to Turkish football has been ruled out.”

With Fenerbahce out of the equation, Barcelona has a free run at Rashford; it is unfortunate for INEOS that there will not be a bidding war.

Either way, all eyes now turn to the Catalan giants to show intent, with INEOS hoping a £40 million bid arrives sooner rather than later.
