Manchester United have confirmed that Ruben Amorim and his players returned to a new and revamped Carrington training facility on Wednesday morning.

    Carrington undergoes improvements

Last year, United confirmed that they had initiated work on an ambitious £50m project that would see Carrington be transformed into a “world-class” complex.

A big part of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s bid to become co-owner of United was to invest heavily in improving United’s infrastructure after several years of neglect and pitiful management by the Glazer family.

Award-winning and Manchester-born architect Lord Norman Foster was hired to oversee the renovations at Carrington.

United noted that they planned to revamp the gym, medical, nutrition and recovery areas and insisted there was “a design emphasis on creating more space for collaboration and innovation among players and staff.”

The project ran throughout the entire 2024/25 season and was set to officially open just before the start of the upcoming campaign.

Last week, Amorim said about the redeveloped Carrington, “It’s like a new start with different standards and I think to go to our building, to the new building is like a fresh start.”

“So, I think the timing is completely perfect to do everything. The good thing is that everybody’s aligned what we need to do and now it’s to win games, game by game try to win every game and the performance are really important as well.”

Now, United have announced that the players have returned to a new-look Carrington following the completion of their United States pre-season tour.

The club relayed in a statement, “While away in the States, the refurbishment of our Carrington training complex was completed and the players have now moved in.”

“The innovative new facility will officially open with a ribbon-cutting event on Friday.”

The post below features some photos of the players inside the upgraded facility.

United also teased the Carrington’s opening on social media.

United are back in action on Saturday when they take on Fiorentina in their final pre-season clash before the Premier League campaign kicks off.

Gianluigi Donnarumma: Opening bid from Manchester United ready – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Manchester United’s goalkeeping problem is yet to be solved, but INEOS certainly have plans to remedy this before the summer transfer window closes.

Andre Onana is currently injured, and even if he returns, Ruben Amorim would love for a new shot-stopper given the number of times his No.1 let him down last season.

Backup keeper Altay Bayindir also struggled last term, and with his future likely to lie away from Old Trafford, United could do with help in the market.

Emiliano Martinez seemed to be the preferred choice but Aston Villa’s asking price meant a deal never materialised with United’s loan offer getting rebuffed.

PSG want to sell Gianluigi Donnarumma

Now, Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has emerged as a legitimate target, with the Champions League winners keen to move him on instead of losing him on a free next season.

There were rumours of the Italian staying put, but now, Stretty News have claimed that United are preparing their first official offer for the “generational” goalkeeper.

PSG reportedly valued Donnarumma at more than £30 million, but INEOS are preparing to submit an opening offer in the region of £26 million.

“Manchester United are ready to launch an onslaught for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose future is engulfed in uncertainty.

    United preparing opening offer

“Sources close to Stretty News reveal that Man Utd are preparing to launch an offer worth £26 million for the Euro 2020 hero. This figure might be deemed sufficient, given that the player’s contract will expire in less than a year.

“These sources also confirm Donnarumma’s great desire to embark on a new career chapter in the Premier League.”

So far this window, the Red Devils have refrained from submitting an offer for a target if the player has not expressed his desire to move to Manchester, as seen from the Benjamin Sesko case.

If this report is true, the former AC Milan ace seems to be keen on a switch to Old Trafford even without Champions League football.

That explains why he has rejected mega-money moves to Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

The Parisian club have their eyes on Lucas Chevalier and Martinez as possible replacements.

Man United’s Benjamin Sesko battle with Newcastle United: major update emerges this evening – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Manchester United’s battle with Newcastle United for the signature of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko took a huge twist this evening according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

    A tale of two cities

The two clubs have been locking horms over the transfer of the young striker, with Newcastle already having had a €75 million plus €5 million bid rejected by the German outfit.

It has been widely reported that the player was biding his time in deciding which club he would prefer to join, while for their part, United were said to be willing to match Newcastle’s bid for him.

    A new bid comes in

In a major update this evening, the renowned Ornstein claims that:

“Red Bull Leipzig have received an improved offer from Newcastle United to sign Benjamin Sesko.”

He added that the opening €75m + €5m bid “was deemed insufficient by Leipzig, leading Newcastle to raise that to at least €80m.

    Cold Feet

The hammer blow for United fans came in the reporter’s next sentence:

“Sesko is also wanted by Manchester United, but a proposal has yet to arrive from Old Trafford and the figures they have indicated a willingness to pay are lower than those of Newcastle at present.

He adds that Newcastle are now in a much stronger position than United “after a day of positive talks held by their co-owner Jamie Reuben with Leipzig and the 22-year-old striker.”

Ornstein does offer hope to United, noting that Sesko’s preference will determine the outcome to some extent. There is a “gentleman’s agreement” in place between player and club that he will be allowed to leave if a suitable offer comes in.

The reporter believes it unlikely, however, that Leipzig would agree to sell to United for a fee they have already rejected from Newcastle even if the player’s preference were to join the Red Devils.

United will bid if the player picks them

Another top tier reporter, Fabrizio Romano, corroborated Ornstein’s story this evening, adding that they “confirmed again to RB Leipzig that they will bid if Šeško picks them.”

Bryan Mbeumo: Ruben Amorim gives blunt review of debutante’s performance vs Everton – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim gave an honest review of his side’s 2-2 draw with Everton tonight, singling out several players in particular.

While Man United came away with the Premier League Summer Series trophy, the team was disappointed to be held to a 2-2 draw with the Toffees despite dominating much of the game.

    The overall team performance

“Let’s talk about the tour, I think it was really important for us, it was perfect for us, because we had time to work. In the end, we have a feeling that we have to do a lot of work still,” Amorim explained, pulling no punches in his critique of his team.

“It was a good tour – today, we didn’t play quite well. We struggled especially with the buildup. We struggled with long balls and second balls from the opponents, so we have a lot to do.”

    The standout player

While Bruno Fernandes grabbed a goal and an assist, it was Mason Mount who got an honourable mention by Amorim in his post-match TV interview.

“He does everything 100%. Every training, every game, he’s always the same player. For you to maintain the consistency, you have to work, and he works a lot.”

Still, he also dedicated some time to shine a light on Bryan Mbeumo, who made his debut for the club.

    Amorim on Mbeumo

“I think he played well, of course, he needs to improve in a lot of things,” Amorim explained.

“You can feel that the physicality of Bryan is not perfect. That is normal, but the first touch, the way he turns, to connect with the other guys, the runs that he made is really important.”

“He’s going to be really important in our team,” Amorim concluded, revealing his high expectations for Mbeumo.

With one pre-season match to go – a home game against Fiorentina – Mbeumo will be raring to prove himself further.

Of course, given Amorim’s assessment, it seems that Mbeumo could have a major responsibility for United in the season to come.

Alejandro Garnacho transfer: Chelsea make bold decision on Man United star – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Chelsea could come to Manchester United’s rescue during the ongoing summer transfer window.

United are prepared to go head-to-head with Newcastle United for Benjamin Sesko, who is valued at around €80 million by RB Leipzig.

Having already spent around €150m on Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, United were expected to sell their high-profile outcasts before pursuing a deal for a new striker.

However, according to the Manchester Evening News, United are “confident of financing a deal” for Sesko before making any major sale.

That being said, United still intend to raise funds through sales, as they need to address other areas of the squad as well. Chelsea could help their cause by taking a misfit off their hands.

Chelsea ready to go all out for Man United winger

According to Fichajes, Chelsea are “aiming to seal the deal as quickly as possible” for Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho.

It is claimed the Blues are “willing to invest around €120 million” to bring the pair to Stamford Bridge before the start of the season.

Both Simons and Garnacho are understood to be valued at around €60m by their respective clubs. Still, Chelsea are not walking away, and are prepared to “negotiate” and “close the deal as quickly as possible.”

However, the Spanish outlet underline that talks between United and Chelsea for the Argentina international are “not advanced” yet. Still, he is considered one of their “priorities”.

The report further states: “If all goes according to plan, the club could close both deals in the coming days and make a statement.”

    Garnacho will not join Besiktas

Earlier today, Garnacho was linked with a move to Besiktas, who are currently led by United legend, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano quickly poured cold water on the suggestion, insisting the Argentine wants to stay in the Premier League.

In recent days, Tottenham Hotspur have also shown interest in Garnacho, who is reportedly viewed as Son Heung-min’s possible replacement in North London. At the moment, however, it is safe to assume Chelsea are in the driving seat for the 21-year-old’s signature.

  • Nick Woltemade makes his decision amid Manchester United’s interest – Man United News And Transfer News

Nick Woltemade makes his decision amid Manchester United’s interest – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Manchester United are reportedly going full steam ahead in pursuit of Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig.

But owing to the Bundesliga side’s demands, INEOS have been forced to keep alternatives ready. Randal Kolo Muani is one name doing the rounds as is that of Nick Woltemade of VfB Stuttgart.

The German enjoyed a breakthrough 24/25 season, scoring 17 goals while also registering three assists in what was his debut campaign for Stuttgart.

And naturally, that kind of form has attracted the attentions of the Red Devils, along with Newcastle while Bayern Munich remain long-term admirers.

Nick Woltemade doesn’t want the Premier League

Journalist Christian Falk has now claimed that the 23-year-old is not keen on a move to the Premier League at this stage of his career.

Instead, he wants Bayern but his parent club have proven to be a tough nut to crack. As per the report, Sebastian Hoeneß’ side have rejected a €45 million and €55 million offer from the Bavarians

The Bundesliga champions are remaining patient, as they are aware not too many other teams will submit as lucrative an offer as theirs.

With a move to United or the Magpies ruled out, Stuttgart are under pressure to accept.

“Manchester United and Newcastle had Nick Woltemade on their shortlists. However, the VfB Stuttgart striker is still focused on Bayern Munich. He doesn’t want to leave the Bundesliga at this stage.

    All eyes on Bayern

“On Wednesday, there was a meeting between the Bayern bosses where they discussed how they’ll move in the window for Woltemade. There have already been two offers rejected – one of €40m [£34.5m] plus €5m and the second of €50m [£43.2m] plus €5m.

“Now they’ve decided to play on time, as they don’t want to raise their offer again. They hope Stuttgart will come back to the table, as it’s a lot of money for the club as it stands, and they can’t guarantee that another club will be prepared to pay this fee next year. So, it’s a tactic by Bayern to put pressure on Stuttgart.”

This update will not hurt United as much as it affects Newcastle. INEOS seem to be focussed on Sesko, and Woltemade was only backup.

As for Eddie Howe’s side, they have failed to land multiple priority targets, and following Sesko’s snub, even his fellow Bundesliga striker Nick Woltemade seems to arriving at a similar conclusion.

  • Rasmus Hojlund plan in place as Sesko deal nears completion – Man United News And Transfer News

Rasmus Hojlund plan in place as Sesko deal nears completion – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Rasmus Hojlund seems to be hitting form for Manchester United at the right time, with the club currently trying to recruit another striker.

Last season, the Dane looked lost up top, and managed a meagre four Premier League goals all campaign. And with the lack of options at hand, Ruben Amorim was forced to keep playing him.

Apart from his struggles in front of goal, the 22-year-old failed to impress with his back-to-goal play and all signs pointed towards a summer exit.

But he started strongly against West Ham in pre-season, before finding the back of the net against Bournemouth on Thursday. As a result, INEOS have not yet asked him to leave, with the Denmark international keen to fight for his place.

    Sesko incoming

After missing out on several targets, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko has been identified as the go-to option in the market thanks to Christopher Vivell’s insistence, even though the head coach would have liked Ollie Watkins.

Should the Slovenian arrive, in all likelihood the ex-Atalanta ace was expected to depart with reports of a swap deal gaining traction.

But The Sun have a different tale to tell. They have claimed that Amorim wants the United No.9 to stay and feels Sesko’s arrival will only aid him to improve.

“But Amorim also believes that the presence of Sesko will prove the spur Rasmus Hojlund requires to overcome his doubts and mature into a top class alternative.

“Amorim is understood to feel the lack of competition up front that Hojlund faced contributed to what the Dane admits was a “tough” season.

Amorim feels Rasmus Hojlund will benefit as a result

“Knowing he has to fight for game time against Sesko will force Hojlund out of his comfort zone and benefit both the former Atalanta striker and United.

“It is why the manager would prefer Hojlund to stay at the club, rather than leaving – although the Dane will be given the right to make his own decisions on his future.”

The added competition will spur him on to greater heights is the head coach’s thinking. Whether that will prove to be the case only time will tell.

A lot will depend on Leipzig’s final asking price and whether United can afford Sesko without resorting to selling the Danish ace.
