West Ham weighing up move for Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz

    [ad_1]

West Ham United are reportedly pushing hard to sign Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport via TuttoJuve.

The Brazilian international previously enjoyed an impressive five-year spell in the Premier League with Aston Villa, having joined from Manchester City in 2019. Luiz made 204 appearances for Villa, registering 46 goal contributions and playing a pivotal role in their qualification for the UEFA Champions League—a first for the club in over 40 years.

However, after his move to Juventus, things haven’t gone as planned. The 26-year-old has fallen down the pecking order under both Thiago Motta and Igor Tudor, sparking speculation over an early exit from Turin. A return to England now looks increasingly likely.

According to the report, West Ham are “determined” to bring Luiz back to the Premier League. New manager Graham Potter is said to be a strong admirer of the midfielder and believes Luiz could be a key figure in his rebuild at the London Stadium.

The Hammers are in active negotiations with Juventus, who are open to a sale. The proposed deal would include an initial loan with an £8 million fee, followed by a mandatory buy clause worth between £21–25 million based on certain performance-related conditions.

Douglas Luiz is reportedly open to the move, with the promise of regular first-team football and a leadership role at West Ham seen as highly attractive.

Why Douglas Luiz Is a Perfect Fit for West Ham

Luiz brings a mix of technical quality and steel to midfield—ranking highly across key metrics such as tackles, interceptions, progressive passes, chance creation, and high turnovers during his previous Premier League tenure.

Following a disappointing campaign last season, West Ham need midfield reinforcements who can lead by example. Luiz offers not just experience and ball-winning ability, but also the mentality and presence to galvanise a squad that struggled for identity and consistency.

If the deal is completed, Douglas Luiz could be exactly the kind of signing West Ham need to spark a new era under Graham Potter.

  • West Ham keen on signing Igor Jesus

    [ad_1]

West Ham United are reportedly plotting a summer swoop for Brazilian striker Igor Jesus, with Graham Potter keen to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new season. According to Fichajes, the Hammers have been monitoring the 24-year-old forward, who has impressed since returning to Brazil with Botafogo. Igor Jesus grabbed headlines with a standout performance in Botafogo’s Club World Cup opener against Seattle Sounders, where he scored and helped secure a vital victory—catching the attention of clubs across Europe. Originally emerging through the ranks at Coritiba, Jesus enjoyed a four-year stint at Shabab Al-Ahli in the UAE before making his Botafogo debut last summer. Since then, he’s racked up 56 appearances and been involved in 22 goals (16 goals, 6 assists), establishing himself as a key figure in the squad. While primarily a centre-forward, Jesus is versatile across the front line, a quality that appeals to West Ham’s new boss. Potter reportedly sees him as an ideal fit for his tactical system—thanks to his movement, spatial awareness, and finishing ability with both feet. West Ham are believed to be preparing a formal offer, aware that a delay could allow other top European clubs to pounce. Botafogo, meanwhile, may be […]

West Ham Join Crystal Palace in Tiago Djalo Transfer Race

    [ad_1]

West Ham United are ready to battle it out with Crystal Palace for the signature of Juventus defender Tiago Djalo, as both Premier League sides look to strengthen their backlines ahead of the new season.

According to Tuttosport, the Hammers have submitted an enquiry for the 25-year-old Portuguese centre-back, who spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at FC Porto. Djalo is on the radar of several clubs after a mixed spell in Portugal, and a Premier League switch could now be on the cards.

    Djalo’s Search for Consistency

Since his move from Lille to Juventus in January 2024, Djalo has found it tough to settle. With just one appearance for the Bianconeri before being loaned out, he was hoping for a fresh start at Porto—but he couldn’t cement a regular starting spot, tallying only 17 appearances across all competitions.

Despite limited game time, Djalo’s physical profile and potential have kept him firmly in the spotlight. He even chipped in with two goals for Porto, showcasing his threat on set pieces.

London Clubs Circle as Summer Heats Up

Crystal Palace have been long-time admirers of Djalo and remain keen as doubts linger over Marc Guehi’s future. Meanwhile, West Ham are exploring defensive reinforcements with doubts over Mavropanos and Nayef Aguerd’s consistency.

With both clubs eager to bolster their squads, the race for Djalo could heat up quickly. London may well be calling—but which club will win the tug of war?

Jadon Sancho’s camp respond strongly to West Ham transfer claims and unprofessionalism rumours – Man United News And Transfer News

    [ad_1]

Jadon Sancho’s entourage have pushed back against West Ham transfer claims and rumours of unprofessional behaviour at Chelsea.

Manchester United sent Sancho out on loan to Chelsea, where he spent the 2024/25 season. As part of the deal, Chelsea had an obligation to permanently sign the player at the end of the campaign for £25m.

However, it later emerged that Chelsea could opt out of the arrangement by paying United a £5m penalty fee. The Blues exercised that option despite Sancho scoring in their Europa Conference League final triumph over La Liga outfit Real Betis.

It was stated that Chelsea could not reach an agreement with Chelsea over fresh terms, as the forward was not willing to take a pay cut to fit within the club’s wage structure.

Sancho is not believed to have a future at United, with neither club nor player interested in such an outcome. The England international has since been linked to Juventus, Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad, Al-Hilal, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Brentford, West Ham and former team Borussia Dortmund.

A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that West Ham were offered the chance to sign Sancho at an “affordable” fee but they were not interested.

There were later claims of a swap deal on the table – Sancho to West Ham, Mohammed Kudus to United – but that idea never got off the ground.

Claret & Hugh have now given more information on this and why the transfer didn’t materialise. Claret & Hugh claim a West Ham spokesman told them about Sancho, “Rightly or wrongly, we’ve heard he can be difficult – we don’t want that kind of thing.”

It is understood that West Ham manager Graham Potter was not keen on bringing Sancho in or allowing Kudus to leave. Potter requested due diligence be carried out to understand why Chelsea chose not to pursue a permanent deal for Sancho and why United were so desperate to part ways with him.

According to Claret & Hugh, it was discovered that Sancho had faced issues with timekeeping during his stint at Chelsea.

Due to this, West Ham made it clear they did not want the 25-year-old.

However, a representative of Sancho has refuted any suggestions that the player lacked professionalism.

The representative told Claret & Hugh, “Jadon Sancho is an excellent professional. Do you think Dortmund would continually try to re-sign him if he wasn’t?”

“As for timekeeping, he was late for training at Cobham ONCE, and so were about eight of the players.”

“There were roadworks at Wisley, and the M25 was shut. Everyone had trouble getting in that day.”

Sancho has one year left on his lucrative United contract, which is worth up to £300,000 a week.

  • West Ham Closing In on €35M Deal for Galatasaray Star Baris Alper Yilmaz

West Ham Closing In on €35M Deal for Galatasaray Star Baris Alper Yilmaz

    [ad_1]

West Ham United are edging closer to a summer swoop for Galatasaray forward Baris Alper Yilmaz, with a reported price tag of €30-35 million. The 24-year-old Turkish international has become a top target for the Hammers as they seek attacking reinforcements.

According to Turkish journalist Sezgin Gelmez via Haber Sarikirmizi, negotiations between the two clubs are progressing well, with Yilmaz’s move to London “on the table”. Galatasaray are open to letting him go—if the price is right.

Yilmaz has grown in stature since joining Gala from Ankara Keciorengucu in 2021. Known for his pace, versatility, and tireless work rate, he has netted 14 goals and supplied six assists in 48 games across all competitions this season. His ability to play anywhere across the frontline makes him a perfect fit for West Ham’s tactical setup.

The East Londoners are preparing for potential exits of key stars Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paquetá, and Yilmaz is seen as an ideal replacement. With Premier League rivals also circling, West Ham may need to act swiftly to wrap up the deal.

This move could mark a bold statement of intent by the Hammers—and a major opportunity for Yilmaz to shine on the Premier League stage.

  • West Ham Eye £25m Swoop for Aaron Ramsdale Amid Goalkeeper Shake-Up

West Ham Eye £25m Swoop for Aaron Ramsdale Amid Goalkeeper Shake-Up

    [ad_1]

West Ham United are weighing up a £25 million summer swoop for England international Aaron Ramsdale — and the move could be a game-changer at the London Stadium.

According to Football Insider, new Hammers boss Graham Potter is keen to bolster his goalkeeping options, with current No.1 Alphonse Areola struggling for consistency. Ramsdale, who finds himself relegated with Southampton, could be available for a cut-price fee due to a release clause triggered by the Saints’ drop to the Championship.

Ramsdale Seeking a Premier League Lifeline

At 26, Ramsdale is far too talented to be plying his trade in the second tier. With West Ham ready to pounce, the Englishman might see this as a perfect route back to top-flight football. He’s already proven his worth at Premier League level, and a switch to the Hammers could reignite his career just in time for his peak years.

    Stiff Competition for Signature

West Ham aren’t alone in the race. Both Newcastle United and Manchester United are monitoring Ramsdale’s situation closely. With Nick Pope’s long-term successor still unclear and Onana’s form under scrutiny, a summer tug-of-war could be on the cards.

Still, at £25 million, Ramsdale could be a long-term bargain. For West Ham, a reliable, experienced shot-stopper could be exactly what they need to launch a serious push for Europe next season.
